Pros: What do you like about 2005 Dodge Dakota?
Everything. I have the Dodge Dakota with Tow Package. 75000 miles on it. NO problems.
Took it in 2 weeks ago to have brakes replaced. Figured at 75000 miles, it would need them. Mechanic said NOPE.
Looking good. Had one set of tire replaced.
I pull a 24 foot RV Travel Trailer. NO PROBLEM. Bogs down a little on steep hills, but otherwise, OK. I do get 20 MPG when no trailer, and 10MPG when I have the trailer on the hitch. NOT BAD I SAY.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Dodge Dakota?
I wish it had the tow mirrors on it. If you have the tow package, you should get the extendable mirrors. Other than that, I am very satisfied.
2005 Dodge Dakota Review:

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Dodge Dakota?
It has some power.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Dodge Dakota?
Fixing a lot of stuff.
MPG is horrible.
2005 Dodge Dakota Review:
I own a Dodge Dakota 4.7 2005, I have put 2,000 dollars into fix this money pit.
The first of the replacements was my power steering pump, then my exhaust manifold and 4 bolts broke, then I had a crank case transmission sensor go out and another sensor I can't remember, and then my exhaust manifolds broke again (warped), then my catalytic converters when bad.
So I would never buy another one.
My front end shakes really bad. My front end cracks when you take corners.

2005 Dodge Dakota Review:
Wanted to comment on the braking problem that a lot of people are talking about. I was rear ended and the RR cylinder failed and the LR was close to failing prior to the accident so look into replaceing the brake cylinders in the drum only 15 buck per. on line. For some reason they just seem to wear excessively. I had the cylinders replaced and like driving a new vehicle.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Dodge Dakota?
Styling and interior room with the quad cab.
Easy to drive compared to some other small trucks.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Dodge Dakota?
Paint quality and interior quality poor for such an expensive truck.
Brake vibration common for all Chrysler vehicles (have owned 12 others).

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Dodge Dakota?
I like the look and ride in my quad truck and the 4.7 engine.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Dodge Dakota?
The cruise control sucks. When you go up hill not very smooth.
I have 17 factor wheels I have to have them rebalanced before I go on trips.
Would like a bigger bed.
2005 Dodge Dakota Review:
I like my 4.7 engine. I like the looks and the room of my quad cab. I have had to replace door lock opener and they are a bit pricey.
