Pros: What do you like about 2005 Ford Taurus?
This car is a rugged, reliable car that does best on the open road. I have 152,000 miles on it.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Ford Taurus?
Better milage. The best I ever got was 31 mpg after an oil change, tune up, flushing the transmission and the fuel injectors.

In the city the milage drops to about 17-20 mpg.

2005 Ford Taurus Review:
This has been a great car averaging about 27 mpg on cruise control at about 72 mph. Above that, expect about 25-26 mpg.
The check engine light came on at 148,000 to let me know I had to replace the catalytic converter for $2200.
I take good care of fluids: flush the transmission that will avoid the problems others have seen. Change the oil every 5-10,000 miles. Keep the radiator flushed.

Mechanically, this car is difficult to work on. The battery has to be replaced from the bottom; you can't access the bolts.

The reliability is the key value of this car. It just keeps running. It does so because I keep it up.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Ford Taurus?
Comfortable to drive, best handling car I have ever driven.
Nice acceleration, very loud (I like it that way!).
Surprisingly fast car.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Ford Taurus?
When I go on the highway, I get thrown around by strong winds- might be my roof racks/kayak carrier but I'm not sure- it can be scary!
My Taurus is currently running lean and I only get 14.8 MPG, which is not fun!

2005 Ford Taurus Review:
I love my Taurus. I bought a 1999 Toyota Camry and swapped cars with my mom because the Taurus is a million times more awesome than the Camry. It is a humble car but in the right hands it is a beast- I've won many a race in this wonderful car!

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Ford Taurus?
Like the ride, handling and performance.
Instruments and dash panel are easy to read and use.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Ford Taurus?
Paint is fair and the exact touch-up from Ford does not match.
The OBDII system after 60,000 miles constantly is coming on and off, has to be reset and there seems to be no logical reason.

2005 Ford Taurus Review:
The 2005 Taurus has ended years of Ford ownership as I have had problems with this car and a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis at about 62,000 mile mark. The Taurus has been a nice vehicle up to that point then seems as though it is a constant ritual of sensor lights coming on, paint chipping and only average to poor gas mileage. I await with anticipation the next problem that develops in the near future.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Ford Taurus?
Everything or so I thought.

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Ford Taurus?
Put a better transmission in it.

2005 Ford Taurus Review:
I still have a $300/mo. payment and the transmission goes out with no warning at 70,000 miles. What"s up with that? I am unemployed and need $2900.00 for a new transmission. Should have stuck with a Chevy and I will.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Ford Taurus?
economical to operate and own. not a bad looking car. it says FORD, not HONDA. if it said HONDA, everybody would talk about how great looking it was!

Cons: How would you improve 2005 Ford Taurus?
Fog lights, traction control, exterior temperature reading for the cabin.

2005 Ford Taurus Review:
not sure what the complaints about power are for. This is a family sedan. It accelerates just fine. not a rocket, but it is a taurus not a mustang.
