Pros: What do you like about 2005 GMC Envoy?
Spacious.
The Smooth Ride.
My kids fit perfectly and I drive it a lot to trips all over CA.
It is a good car.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 GMC Envoy?
I bought this car used since July 2005 and by the 3rd year it engine light turned on (Tank lever broke, Intake manyfold was replaced because it was cracked, replaced it for over $500.00.) Then they told me that the fifth cylinder in the motor head was damaged and it needed to be sent to the the machine shop. It would cost over $2000.00 to do that and that was 3 year ago. And I still have not fixed it and the car keeps going. Couple months ago the noise that it used to do came back and I need to replace the intake manifold seal.
It sounds like an old car.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 GMC Envoy?
Good strong engine.
Visibility.
Still have original brake pads at 37k.
Does okay in the snow.
Still has the original battery too.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 GMC Envoy?
Unable to correct headlight flickering is embarrassing. Dealer said it was normal.
I replace liftgate shocks yearly - they die when the winter hits.
Had goofy things go wrong like the horn died in the first year then they gave me a brand new steering wheel.
The idler pulley wheel made a nasty noise and was replaced just after warranty for free, the dealer said it was their good faith effort - nice, saved $400.
The one that took the cake was the fuel tank level sensor - it was erratic for a couple of years after warranty was up and I gave in and spent $450 to replace.
Oh yes, they gave me a new radio when the light went out on one of the dials.
I did notice some rust on the frame a year ago. Who cares, at 6 years old, it gives it character.
2005 GMC Envoy Review:
I think I'm going to keep it another year and trade it in before everything starts needing replaced.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 GMC Envoy?
Roomy.
4x4 mileage ok.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 GMC Envoy?
The e coating of the frame could be better.
IPC could be improved to stop flickering of lights.
Wind noise inside the cabin could be reduced..
2005 GMC Envoy Review:
Dealers need to improve their service regarding recalls. The e coated frame is showing rust, totally unacceptable for 4 year old vehicle.

The controls on the steering wheel, smooth ride, back seat radio and air contols, and comforatable for all 5 passengers.

Better quality of enterior materials. The radio dials are chipping and fading. I've had the leather seats replaced twice before the warrenty even expired.

Pros: What do you like about 2005 GMC Envoy?
Smooth ride, nice interior design, Bose stereo
Cons: How would you improve 2005 GMC Envoy?
Interior needs to be built better. get rid of all the different interior materials and replace them with only 1 material throughout the car. Stiffer frame. A 5 speed.
2005 GMC Envoy Review:
The envoy towed a 5800 lb. boat better than i thought it would but i wish it had a five speed or a way to turn off the overdrive and still be able to use the fourth gear.
