Pros: What do you like about 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
So many compartments on the inside to put things, love the double-cubby center console, seats are comfortable, fits three children in the back very well. LOVE that the head lights turn off automatically when I open the door (with the car off, of course), no "30 second" timer that you hope doesn't short out. The 12v outlets also turn off when the car is off, which helps the battery.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
Comes standard with a tape deck... in 2005? Awkward.
The gears were a little tricky (manual) because sometimes I had to release the clutch an inch to get it to shift into 1st.
Other than that, LOVE this car!
2005 Hyundai Elantra Review:
I bought mine in 2008 with 40K miles on it, never had any mechanical problems. Just got totalled last week, but my son and I were perfectly safe. I'm 80% sure I'll buy a newer Elantra (other 20% is leaning towards the Kia Forte) because I loved mine!

After two years of driving it -- not much.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
Truthful statistics about MPG - pictures in the manual that actually represent the configuration of the car it came with - things like that would be nice.
2005 Hyundai Elantra Review:
The MPG was a joke to begin with. At first it got about 19 mpg around town with a little highway driving. NO WHERE near the 24 it claimed.
In the last few months, that has dropped to about 15 mpg around town with a little highway/freeway driving.
I can't get the cover off the air filter to see if that is so dirty that it might be causing the problem (the pictures in the manual that came with the car don't seem to match the actual car). It isn't misfiring, which might mean the spark plugs are a problem.
Even though the price of gas is down - temporarily - it's getting so I can't afford to drive the thing anywhere!

I don't like the noise due to lack of areodynamics on the freeway and the suspension is not all that too.
