Pros: What do you like about 2005 Jeep Liberty?
2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4X4 Automatic.
Sharp looking.
Good visibility.
Off road capabilities.
Good turning radius.
Handles OK.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Liberty?
Sluggish V-6,noisy ride.
Not very comfortable, feel every bump and imperfection on the road.
Smallest glove compartment I've ever seen, it's useless.
Terrible location for window controls. Ditto for the cup holders.
No room in the back seat if front passenger or driver adjust their seat back to the max.
A/C is Fair at best.
Lousy gas mileage.
Can't remote access the rear gate window with key in ignition.
Gas frequently overflows from tank when filling up. What a mess.
2005 Jeep Liberty Review:
Seems as if I'm always filling the gas tank. BTW my other vehicle is a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4. So it's not like I'm unfamiliar with visiting the gas station.
I liked my 2003 Ford Escape much better in every way. Had my 2007 Kia Sorento performed to normal expectations, it too would have been a superior vehicle.
I purchased this Jeep with 48k miles and now have nearly 54k on it. Although I've only had one problem (LOOSE TAIL PIPE) with this Jeep, the vehicle just doesn't feel tight or very well made. Maybe I'm just not a Jeep person. My Escape was peppier and much more comfortable and the Sorento (when it wasn't acting up) also had this Jeep beat in several ways. It's Sluggish, noisy and uncomfortable.
So far it's mechanically sound. I did have one recall which was taken care of by dealer. I'm second guessing myself on this purchase.

The outside is great! I love the fact that this vehicle is not too large and not too small. I think that this is a very attractive vehicle to look at.
Also, if it wasn't for this vehicle and it's 4x4 capabilities, I would never have made the drive home alive during the February 2011 (Chicagoland Area) storm.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Liberty?
I would like to see better gas mileage!
I would like my tires to last longer than a year!
I would like to have reliable brakes!
I would like to be able to get one drink out of the cup holder without having the lid pop off (and spill everywhere) because it gets caught on the cup behind it!
I would like to see power mirrors that work after minimal use!
I would like to have seats that look brand new and not like I couldn't hold my bodily fluids!
I would like to not pay $60.00 in gas every four days just to get to work and back!
I would like to have a more aerodynamic windshield so that after one drive, my windshield does not look like a piece of abstract art splattered with bug juice!
I would like to not feel every bump in the road!
I would like to not have to wear earplugs while I drive so that I don't hear Jeep noises and/or outside noises.
I would like to have a back seat with more legroom! My 11 year old, 5' 6" son, has trouble sitting in the back. My ten year old daughter, who is only 4' 11", has not gone through a growth spurt yet, but when she does, I will have two kids that are crammed in the back.
I would like to have more rear cargo space!

Looks.
Tires did not need replaced until 60,000 miles..I rotated them every 6000 miles.
I like the window switch in the middle.
Comfortable seats.
Easy to drive, park etc.
Good Size.
Holds four adults comfortably.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Liberty?
Better gas mileage.
Water pump out at 70,000 miles.
Steering Wheel adjustment.
Unlock back with key in.

It drives and handles well, and will turn on a dime.
I have owned 4 Jeeps in my life, never any serious problems, did the 30, 60, 90, 120, maintenance preventative. Now I own a 2005 Jeep Liberty 4x4, renegade - only had it a month, but I enjoy driving. My only complaint is where the window controls are located and not much rear space.

Have the renegade.
Good visibility.
Bright headlights.
Good paint.
Great turning in small spots.
Super in snow.
Like the spare mounted on back end.
Has great pick up 3.7 quick bugger.
Nice rims on renegade.

Horrible on tires, eats em up, on my 4th set, 73.000 miles, grinds them down and noisy.
Engine is badly noisy.
Front brakes went bad at 62,000 and backs need replacing at 72.000..
Stiff hard ride, not comfortable seats in back, like a board, seats are stained in back, had covers on front, thank GOD.
Glove box holds a pair of sun glasses.
Sucks gas like a pig..
$25,000 car when new, over priced, not fancy inside, unless it's leather seats then maybe.
Keep forgetting window control are by center console.
If you like comfort and quietness, Jeep ain't got it.
2005 Jeep Liberty Review:
I bought it new. My wife wont drive it, unless it's winter and snowing. So it's mine and me alone, paid for and am going to run it till I die or it dies. I'm 64.
Great winter auto. I don't take it off road. My golf clubs just fit in back, whew..
All in all I have had worse, like a 1994 LHS.. 2001 sport trac 2wd.. Tranny issues, fits in my garage, with room to spare. It's like a golf cart.. haha.

I hate the crappy gas mileage I get. I got 14 to 15 mpg while driving in the city and expressway. Wish it got better gas mileage so I didn't have to sell it.

Love the appearance of the outside. (just don't look at the inside)
Small, easy to park.
Lots of cargo area with the seats down.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Jeep Liberty?
Main Major issue is the seats they stain with a drop of water and I haven't found anything to take it water rings out, it just gets worse. They definitely should have a recall!!!!
Cup holders need to be farther apart two large drinks do not fit.
Handles horrible in the wind.
Gas mileage is not good for such a small vehicle.
2005 Jeep Liberty Review:
I can handle all my complaints except the seats... They need to offer a recall, give out seat covers that fit or something. I take good care of my Jeep but the seats are so embarrassing I hate to have anyone ride with me. On the positive side. I love the outer appearance and that it small.

Goes through tires.

Awful and unreliable air conditioning.
Uses a lot of gas.
Needs frequent water pump replacements.
Electrical system constantly burning through switches.

2005 Jeep Liberty Review:
Swearing off Jeep after this one! Any trip longer than three hours is painful, the ride and the seats are that bad. The A/C never seems to cool the car off despite frequent parts replacement. I have never seem a car that destroys tires as quickly as this Liberty. Same is true for the brakes. And did I mention that it has gone through 3 water pumps. This Jeep is outstanding in the snow but all in all, I past on this model.
