Pros: What do you like about 2005 Mercury Mariner?
Original tires at 49000--will probably get another 3 or 4 thousand out of them.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Mercury Mariner?
Noticed rust 39 months into ownership--took it back to dealership who quickly pointed out that I was 3 months past the warranty period. They would fix it for a $1000.00. I said doesn't Mercury stand behind their product? I guess not.
With a quirky transmission I should have traded it in when they were offering cash for clunkers. Foolish me now I have a rust bucket with a jerky transmission. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A MERCURY OR OTHER AMERICAN CAR!!!!

Pros: What do you like about 2005 Mercury Mariner?
Very reliable, I have never had a problem.
My Mariner has 40K miles with the original tires, looks like I might get 60K miles out of them.
I get about 27 MPG (70 MPH) on the express-way and over-all of 22 MPG and its a V6.
Cons: How would you improve 2005 Mercury Mariner?
Tire noise. Will try a different type. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what type of tire?

2005 Mercury Mariner Review:
Wish I had never purchased my Mariner from Sanderson Lincoln Mercury. Sanderson doesn't stand behind their Vehicles. My Mariner had major problems within 10K miles. Vehicle would take off. Whole transmission had to be torn down clutch failure torque converter overhaul. Same thing happened at 60k Sanderson wouldn't cover.
