Pros: What do you like about 2006 Audi A3?
Power and handling.
Quality of fit and finish, especially paint.
Looks great.
For a small car, it has lots of space.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Audi A3?
Reliability is not acceptable. Too many repairs required and repairs are very expensive.
2006 Audi A3 Review:
I love driving this car and the quality of the fit and finish inside and out. However, I would not recommend it to anyone, because too many things have gone wrong that I have not experienced in other makes that I owned for a longer period. With 130000KM and five years on the car, the air conditioning compressor went (though Audi did help with that), a wheel bearing, the crankcase breather valve and now the injectors require replacement and the fan for the heating controls is acting up. It is an expensive car to buy and own.

2006 Audi A3 Review:
Not much to complain about, love the car. Fun to drive, reasonably good gas mileage and practical all in one. Extremely reliable so far with 26K in miles; that's a first with European cars and this being my 3rd including Volvo XC70 and BMW 530i.

Love the interior, especially at night! Agressive but subtle stance. Suspension is very responsive and balanced. The engine really suits this car well- plenty of power, even at high speeds. Fuel Economy!

Bring the super slick roof rails to North America. I saw them in Europe and they look great. Add Quattro to the 2.0T line-up.

In May, I ordered a 2006 A3 2.0TFSI 6SPD M LavaGry/SportPkg/Xenon/RearSide Airbags/Cold Weather PKG/ - Since then I was constantly scanning this forum trying to assure myself I made a good choice. All was confirmed when I picked it up from the dealer today. This car is tight! Torque is strong and readily available throughout the revs. I can't wait until I break the engine in and I can let the car pull through 5000 to the redline. I love the dash at night and the Xenons truly light the way! Ordered a Set of 18" 9 Spoke S4 wheels wrapped in Pirreli P-Zero NeroM&S tire. They'll handle the torque!

Don't load up the cars with unwanted pricey options. Leather and Bose should be standard. Explain to your dealers about audio options so they can sell them.
2006 Audi A3 Review:
Just traded in my very yellow Mazdaspeed Protege for a base A-3. After a week I am pretty impressed with the car's performance and refinement. The car feels much quicker than the Mazda and vastly improved driveability. It is a little more like a wagon than a hot hatchback. I would probably wait for the VW GTI if I were more patient. Would have preferred the sport package +Bose radio but I couldn't seem to find one equipped that way without buying the Skyroof. The base radio and interior are OK but not as sporty unique as the Mazdaspeed Protege. The dealer was fairly uninformed about MP3, Satellite Radio and this new model in general. Still for $25K, a great buy!
