My husband and i purchased 2 Cadilacs-CASH! Mine is a 2006 DTS. My engine light has been on since since purchase. I have repeatly taken it back to the dealers and have gotten nthing but the run around. That dealership made about 40,000 off of my husband and I. We have been totally let down. This car is falling a part. My husband is now w/Hospice due to lung cancer and I no longer have the time to keep running up to that dealership just for them to look at me funny. Is there anything I can due before I seek legal action?

Great ride.
Great spacing.
Great safety features.
Wonderful sound system.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Cadillac DTS?
The front headlights will fail. When the headlights turn on, about 80% of the time only one headlight comes on. It can be either the left or the right, which ever one decides not to come on. You turn the lights off and back on manually and both lights will come on. This happens both in auto mode or manual mode. The electrical on DTS is a little shabby.
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
Great used car overall. Not a better road car on the highway. Puts the MB and BMW to shame. You can expect to easily get 120,000 miles out of it.

Have more fade resistance in the braking system. When going down hills, the brakes heat up too fast and it is difficult to stop the car. Bring the DTS Large luxury model back. It was selling well.
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
This is only my 3rd Cadillac since 1992. I fear Cadillac is abandoning the older driver lately. They have given up on the very line of luxury large cars that put them where they have been for 80 years. They are pushing us to look at the Mercedes etc. It is a prescription for failure in my opinion. Maybe that is what they want!

User friendly.
Good Hwy ride.

The door automatically locks if you accidentally push lock button while getting out.
Handling could be better in the performance package.

The ride is comfortable.
Style is very good.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Cadillac DTS?
Extend warranties on the various items that keep breaking down. Heated seats, sensors, auto door and starter sets. If you sell a vehicle for $50,000, you should get $50,000 of value.
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
Based on my dealing with customer service call center, my dealer, and Cadillac direct. The vehicle is definitely not worth the money. Cadillac has gone to a out of country call center that it seems like their sole purpose is to get rid of your call. After 35 years of GM vehicles, I have never experienced such bad service as with Cadillac.

Sound of motor under aggressive acceleration.
All that power equipment in the Lux III.
Trunk space.
Sound of radio.

Filled with electrical gremlins. Auto wipers will take a few swipes on a nice clear day, radio will sometimes refuse to work until vehicle is restarted a few times, glare from clock is dangerous, ( $50 000.00 dollar car has stickum over clock...not too impressive to passengers), radio greys out in daylight, headlights flicker at times, usually refuse to switch to high beam, headlights are not too good for seeing on road ahead,cloth door trim goes around door footwells, gets very dirty, a general lack of engineering and quality for the price.
My driver's seat is quickly wearing out at 31 000 mi. Leather shows abnormal wear. Unsightly. Poor quality. Even worse, friends with newer Caddys say things have not been improved! Overpriced, under-engineered! Get quality control as number 1!
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
Has not let me down by the side of the road ...yet...but I do not have the confidence in it that I have had with other GM products. I have owned at least one vehicle from each division. Never felt a lack of trust in them. My dream of a Cadillac is not what I had hoped. Time to leave the General and switch over to Henry!

Nice look and roomy, comfortable ride in the city.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Cadillac DTS?
Car shakes on passenger side during highway driving.
Also, on one occasion the car would not start. I had it charged and ran it through a diagnostic check and was told that everything looked good but there was something draining my battery.
Also, the driver side headlight flickers and eventually goes out - a constant problem. One time I was driving at night on the highway and was about an hour from home when both headlights went out. I was able to click the controls and get the lights back on, but that was scary and unsafe. I now feel uncomfortable about driving my car at night.
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
STAY AWAY from the DTS! My mom bought a brand new 2007 DTS and she had the same problems with her headlights and shaking problem. She has since purchased a new vehicle. I have owned other Cadillacs and have loved them all except for this one.

Awesome car. Mine is a loaded performance silver with light grey interior. Has been a very good car, never in to dealer.

The front leather seats tend to break down on the sides and have started to split.
My car has been to the dealer for warranty work five times because it wouldn't start. I have had three batteries. Numerous electrical problems and still do not have my car repaired correctly. I am just waiting for it not to start.
The car is unreliable and I am afraid to drive it. I have to drive 40 mins to get to a dealer now because GM has closed all the dealers that do warranty work. Honestly when my warranty runs out I will probably have to get rid of the car because I won't be able to keep it on the road.
2006 Cadillac DTS Review:
Overall I use to love my car now...not so much. I hate that I paid twice as much for a car that is undependable. They need to fix the electrical problems.
