Pros: What do you like about 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
I like the style of my car and how much space it has.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
Seats stain easily.
The heater stop working in the dead of winter.
Horrible turn radius.
Had to change the brakes, at 50,000 miles. New tire in 2008.
Bad blind spots.
Inconvenience on the cup holders/ cigarette lighter.
2006 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I do not recommend this vehicle. The heat stopped working due to a heater door that they eventually redesigned because it broke several times (which has happened on several Chevy equinox's).
Chevy will NOT have a recall on it because it's a "wear and tear item." It costs over $1,000.00 to fix - tried calling Chevy to help or see why they wouldn't fix it and they would only help with 25% of it.

I love the way my Equinox plows through the snow and the way it handles on the road. I have never felt more secure behind the wheel of a vehicle while driving in bad weather and on bad roads.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
I bought it new and have been trying for five years to make the whole cupholder, CD holder, charger thing work for me ...something is always in the way...
At 22,000 mi. I had to replace the front brakes and the rotors were so rusted that I had to replace them as well. This is only repair that I have had.
2006 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
Love the way it handles on the road... It's a great vehicle for shopping, easy to park and lots of room for packages. My passengers are surprised by the leg room in the back seat. I really like it for around town, but on long trips it gets uncomfortable..

WONDERFUL LIGHTS GREAT VISION AT NIGHT.
ROOMY AND SPACIOUS.

PRESTONE LEAKS.

2006 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I loved the way this vehicle handle and loved the room in it. The look of the vehicle was awesome. It handles so well when driving, but I would not get another one because from the moment I bought my 2006, it had a prestone smell inside. I had it for a year and it was in there shop over six times for the same thing. Gaskets went, prestone leaks, then motor cracked. They did replace and put in a new motor, however the prestone smell did not go away. Then the heating block was cracked and leaking. So needless to say, I am done with this and I only had it for a year. I waited one month when the motor was being replaced. I think I just got a bad vehicle.

Improve interior material on seats. Very hard to clean.
Change window controls.
2006 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I would never buy another Chevy again. You have to watch the temperature control dials, if not you'll have problems with Blend door in engine that gives you heat. My heat went out along with many others and it's a $900 repair and GM is doing nothing to take care of problem. I would never buy this car again.

Size is perfect, lots of legroom for the whole family.

I bought it used in November 2009, noisy brakes (fixed 6 times), engine light (fixed 3 times). Nothing but problems. Dealership traded it for a different 2006 in June 2010. It is October 2010. Engine light comes on. Nothing ever gets fixed, just pacified!

No I probably would not get this vehicle again. Too many problems. For the amount of money I spent, I need something dependable! That is exactly why people buy foreign cars.

Loved it looks.
Smooth, quiet ride.
Handles great and so far seems to get good gas mileage.
Lights at night help see fabulous compared to my last car.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
Where the cup holders, and charger outlet are.
Complicated controls for radio and CD player.
Would completely redesign interior.

I think the exterior paint is great.
Great rear seat leg room.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
Turning radius sucks, having grinding sounds coming from front brakes still not solved.
Starter continues to run for a short time after engine is started.
Had to replace tires at 20,000 miles even after rotating every 6,000 miles.

The room, it rides smooth except for the things that are wrong with it. I don't like where the locks, window controls are, the emergency brake, and the interior is terrible. You can even clean it good.

Improve the interior, and the front dashboard, and emergency brake. Paint easy chip.
2006 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
Had to buy new alternator, new battery, keep making a cranking noise when I make turns as if something is bad. It keeps making a rumpling noise when I park as if it is coming from where the gas is. I took it to the dealer about ten times, they claim they couldn't find nothing wrong with it even before the warranty ran out.

I love that the back seat slides forwards or backwards depending on whom is in the car with me.
The car has a smooth ride and I haven't had any mechanical issues with it at all.
Great gas mileage.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
I would move the parking brake so it's not in the way of the cup holder. However, I believe GM has already taken care of this issue.
I would also move the cigarette lighter - it's hard to get my car charger into it due to the cup holders/parking break & angle.
The rear cup holders need to be seriously revised - they're too thin.

I purchased my 06 Equinox New and has been in shop several times for continuous crank. Chev. company says there is not a problem, and they refuse to see what this can do to a starter.
Interior seats are horrible for staining.
My son calls the ac a gas chamber - when on, sends out a mist. GM can not find issue.
