CONSOLE DIFFERENT.
MORE STORAGE SPACE AND BETTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
2006 Chevrolet HHR Review:
I GOT MY CAR BRAND NEW. AT FIRST EVERYTHING WAS FINE, BUT THE LONGER I OWN IT THE MORE IT RAINS IN IT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, AND I HAVE TO SUCK THE WATER OUT. IT'S STARTING TO GET ON MY NERVES. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT FROM I NO LONGER TRUST TO FIX MY CAR. THIS CAR SHOULD BE BUILT BETTER TO LAST LONGER. I ONLY HAVE ABOUT 1500 MILES ON IT. RIGHT NOW I NEED INFO ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND WHERE IS IT COMING FROM. I'VE READ OTHER REPORTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.

It's a funky looking cat that is fun to drive.
So far, the only real problem I have had is that our key got stuck in the ignition & we had to get a new "shifter" assembly. $475! ( OUCH!)
If I was younger & worked full time, I would buy another Chev HHR!

Power steering motor went out at 28400 miles. This is dangerous and uncalled for! Make safer cars.
2006 Chevrolet HHR Review:
Was very happy with car until "leather" seats begin cracking and showing fabric backing at 25000 miles! At 28000 miles electric power steering malfunctioned! Cheaply made Mexican import. What's next?

Rides nicely!
Looks "sporty".
Great on gas!
Nice little "run around car".
Like the "on star" package! Especially when the kids have the car.
The sound system is pretty nice too. Love the controls on the steering wheel!
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet HHR?
Engine light keeps coming on.
Bolt covers around seats pop off.
Cup holders in a bad spot in front and the back cup holder needs to be deeper.
Front shoulder seat belts need to be more "short person" friendly...cuts across the neck even with the seat raised up.
I have replaced the breaks due to the terrible noise they make only to have the "new ones" to do the same thing! Really embarrassing upon stopping!
Dents too easily and really expensive to repair! I have noticed several other HHR's with dents in the same location.....especially at the back door latch!
2006 Chevrolet HHR Review:
I do like my car but it certainly could use several "up grades" to make it even better. Especially with the screaming breaks!

Love the styling, ride and the power.
Gas mileage is excellent.
It has a lot of room for hauling stuff.

Bad steering shake.
2006 Chevrolet HHR Review:
Have real problem with the front end shaking while braking, replacing the brakes and rotors did no good. Out of warranty but GM will not acknowledge a problem. This is a dangerous situation while driving the mountain roads.

My 2006 is great! I traded a Mercedes, and you could not give me the Mercedes back. Every motor; windows, heat, air, windows, etc, are stronger, and smoother than the Mercedes (a 2001 ML430)and the sound system is set up to sound good-the Benz had Bose, but it was not set up well. Horsepower is perfect. Took a car full of adults up Trail Ridge in Rocky Mtn. Park, no problem. I am delighted. This is a spectacular machine package

The front end is too low; a lift kit is in order. The cup holders could be better. I think Chevy should look at putting GPS in, as an option, as GPS is the future; true you can put in after market, but GPS is nicer when installed factory. I love this machine, and I am 56, and have driven a few cars ( a lot! )

My 2006 is spectacular in all ways. I traded a Benz, and every aspect of my HHR is nicer-motors, speakers, features, everything. You could not give me the Benz back. The front needs lifting. Hits curbs parking. A spectacular machine.

Great style and cool retro look. Taking a similar style from the old Classic Woody and modernizing it. Great head turner of the year. Since I purchased the car I have had many people ask to look inside the vehicle as well as ask the cost and what extras came with the car.
Very happy with the gas mileage both city and hwy.
Extremely comfortable ride, cool sound system.
Cargo space like that of a standard size truck bed with a camper only with out the discomfort of a truck ride.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet HHR?
Cup holders location could be better and be designed to allow large mug's with handles.
Maybe a wider wheel base to allow for more room between the front/passanger doors and seats. As well as setting the seat a bit wider for overweight people's comfort.
Leg room in back seat when both drivers and passanger's seat are pushed back is ok but could be a bit better.
2006 Chevrolet HHR Review:
I have owned my HHR since September '05. The day it hit the dealerships I couldn't wait to see and drive the car. The first weekend it was out I got to drive it and fell in love. I had researched and driven several other SUV's and Midsized cars,almost making up my mind when I saw the HHR advertised online. After driving it I was sold; after riding in it my family was sold as well. With in a week I was the proud owner of a Dark Grey HHR. Haven't had a mechanical problem yet and really love having the Onstar monthly check up sent by e-mail to me. My first real car was a Ford Mustang, my second the Buick Skylark, now I have this great Chevy with super safety features for not only my own peace of mind but that of my families as well. For someone who has ostioperosis, fibromyalgia, reversed curvature of the c-spine and degenerative disk disease with a torn disk in the lumbar; THIS car is the best thing that ever came around for me. Gratz Chevy on a wonderful vehicle!

Offer SS in panel model.
Offer SS options (4 way disc, engine and suspension on other models)
Offer bigger engine with turbo
offer SS without the rear tailgate spoiler

Love the car, Hope to purchase the HHR later on, maybe a 2009. I would like to purchase a panel with the SS options and rear seats. The panel looks like and old 48 model. Great design!
