I would never buy a GM again. This van is junk. OK if you are a mechanic.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
Wheel bearings, transmission, rear wiper motor, rear end sounds as if its going to fall off, replaced front end, hard steering.

Bought new.
Nice highway driving.
Good gas mileage.
Comfortable.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
t/c problems.
Front sway bars replaced.
Front wheel bearing replaced.
Squeaky steering wheel, problem still not found.
Have had several GMs but this is the last. May as well drive it because trade in value is insulting.

BODY SIDE MOLDINGS GET RUSTED IN LESS THEN THREE YEARS.
REAR WIPER MOTOR FAILED.
HEAVY ON FUEL.
WHEN USING CRUISE CONTROL AND YOU INCREASE THE SPEED SOME TIMES IT JUMPS FROM eg.80 to 120km.
No cargo space in the regular model at all.
Note: GM does not cover the rust/corrosion on the side moldings even though I have 6 years rust protection warranty and the van is only 4 years old.

I have had no problems with my van, maybe I'm just lucky.
Roomy.
DVD.
Drives nice.

The only thing so far is the heated seat for the driver side. It sometimes works and other times not so much.

Van looks good.
In car DVD system.
Spacious.
Drives nicely on the highway.
Fuel economy is not bad for such a large vehicle.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
Front brake rotors had to be replaced with 50,000 miles.
Lights flicker occasionally.
Have to watch fuel level closely. If under 1/4 tank always park facing uphill. Fuel pickup seems to be in the rear of the tank. If fuel level gets low and you park uphill, van will not start.
Headphones are somewhat flimsy and hard to replace.
Exterior molding is starting to discolor.
Center seats are hard to remove.
2006 Chevrolet Uplander Review:
I like the way this van looks. We have driven ours from Indiana to Florida twice with no problems. Kids like the in car entertainment center. Van is very spacious especially when the seats are removed.

I am a GM auto tech. Power sliding doors are impossible to fix, we have almost all parts installed in both doors, and they will work for a while, but will COME BACK. Tried adjusting, tried doing things GM don't tell us to do, still don't work. All of this under warranty (on average on ALL warranty jobs that take 3 hrs GM only pays 1 hr) so the dealers LOOSE $. Now these clunkers are out of warranty with the same problems and GM doesn't care!!!!! Went bankrupt, next (within 7 years) they will be out of business. PS. Ford and Dodge don't care either.

The 06' Uplander LT EXT. AWD, good on fuel, roomy.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
When making a left or right turn there is a loud noisy sound.
And after about 18 months of use, the rack pinion had to be changed, humming to the driver rear, changed bearing sound is still there. Still need to change upper stabilizer bushings.
Rear passenger door does not power lock, had too change rear wiper motor.

I wouldn't buy another Uplander, that's for sure.

2006 Chevrolet Uplander Review:
Air stopped working, heated seats don't work anymore, sliding doors don't work, brakes and rotors useless, rear tires wear on outside edge even with regular rotating, rear wiper stopped working, problem with steering, radio replaced tree times including all the wiring, still does not work properly - just gave up - Do not buy used one - no wonder they are not making anymore.

Comfort, easy to drive.
Lots of room when back seats are down.
Large gas tank, dvd player.
Everything works!!
It's a ladies van!

Armrests should be a bit higher.
Everything you want is usually farther away than you want it.
