Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
I have now 226,000 on it. Mostly highway driven for my sales work.
Good in snow and dirt roads.
Seats are comfortable and overall engine performance is good.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
Have changed oil every 5,000 and followed all maintenance requirements. Have had the transmission rebuilt twice now and still find it wines a bit now. This seems to be a common problem with the Escapes.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Would be nice if it had 4x4 lock available.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
Very responsive engine, fun to drive, the appearance (like the style better than the newer ones as well as the competition.)
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
The AC could perform a little better. (I like it cooler than most.)
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Very fun to drive, good performance, reliable (so far). Rides very well in the snow. Fuel economy could be a bit better. Overall very good value.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
Performance.
View of the road.
Longevity - if you take care of them - how about 404,000 miles and counting.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
Get a freakin' clue -
ALL CARS NEED UP KEEP!!!!!!!!!!
Seats were a bit hard - but I fixed that.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Do any of you whiners know it takes money to maintain a car - ANY CAR! Most of the complaints here are for common up keep. Cars are mechanical machines . . . they wear. Brakes, transmission clutches etc. I'll bet not one of you have ever bothered to get the transmission flushed and filters changed. Or how about the coolant - ever had that flushed? Of course not - you just drive them into the ground and then bitch about how terrible they are.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
Shifter, acceleration, and the way it can cut through the snow.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
Better radio - it's very average, but nothing major.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Works great in the winter. I live in Wisconsin and put my kids in it so I know they won't end up in the ditch. The performance of the v6 is good. The interior is average, yes a few stains but nothing a steamer and 20 mins won't take care of. Only thing I'd change is the radio - it's very very basic but good for a high school student to drive around in. I'd say the car can pull anything a v6 truck would pull. After 100,000 miles, it starts a little harder but that's to be expected.

2006 Ford Escape Review:
I have the limited, V6 model with the heated leather seats and sunroof. The drivers seat is very uncomfortable during long trips. The heated seats at times have a mind of their own and turn on without pressing the button.
Last year I had to get the breaks replaced and the exterior plastic piece along the bottom is wearing down significantly. I have found that my Escape performs very poorly in the cold weather in Ontario and I am considering trading it in before next winter.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
We love the look of our 2006 Ford Escape...the interior is nice and it suits our needs.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
So far, we've replace the transmission which I don't believe a vehicle of this year should have had that problem. There was only about a 5 minute warning when this happened...the Escape seemed like it was in neutral regardless of what it was in....very disappointing!!
Also, this morning the rear window on the hatch exploded in my driveway...shattered glass everywhere. This could have been extremely dangerous if our son had of been in the back seat, or if we were driving. I had glass at least 15 feet behind the Escape.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
The problems I named above, are apparently common problems with the Escape according to all the service workers that did our repairs. There really should be some type of compensation for these 2 common problems. The safety concern alone with the exploding window could be dangerous and disastrous!!

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
So far, after 1 1/2years we love this suv. Everything works just fine. We read all the cons from other people, and we have not had any troubles at all. We are buying another Escape in 2012.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
A little better gas millage, that's it.
2006 Ford Escape Review:

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
Love my heated seats.
Love the size of it.
Easy to drive.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
Bad gas mileage, need ipod dock n air con. Through lower vent. Even heated seats in back or vents in ceiling for back passengers so I don't over heat or freeze. Road noise from rear windows should seal better.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
I'm 2nd owner, only had for 2 yrs and have replaced both front ABS sensors new alt. and battery, front brakes n rotors and now rear ones have to be done to. Also front axle needs replacing in the near future, has low mileage and needs all tis work. Will be selling this one as much as I love everything else. But will not buy it again...plus at 4 yrs old should not need all this work..

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape?
The only nice thing I have to say is that it looks nice.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
The Escape has a problem with its timing chain on the v4 motor. Ford knows about it and still they will not do a recall on it. I used to Pro-American cars after but after my problems with Ford and my Escape. I'll never buy another American car again.
Also, forget the resale value because it's horrible. Let alone you would think that because it's a V4 it would have great gas mileage but,
NO *@#$!&% WAY! This car sucks!!!!!!!!
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Ford is no help at all, as well as the Ford dealer I bought it from.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape?
The 4 cylinder engine is horrible - not enough power to pull onto the highway and it gets terrible gas mileage.
2006 Ford Escape Review:
Just had the most bizarre incident this morning - while parked at the local convenience store my rear window "exploded", outward, glass flew about 10-15 feet from the vehicle. Called the Ford garage and they claim they have never had any other such incidents.
