Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Freestyle?
Very roomy and comfortable. Pretty good gas mileage.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
Had to have been the worst car ever manufactured by any company. I had to replace 2 throttle bodies, a new transmission at 47,000 miles and $5,000,two sets of brakes, tires go after 35,000 miles, needed to replace oxygen sensors at about $1,000, front engine mount and more and more and more. This car was a piece of crap and Ford did nothing. I was a Toyota customer for 35 years and was convinced to try Ford because the were good again. Bull crap, I will never ever buy Ford or American ever again and hopefully when I tell everyone how bad Ford is that there will be a serious domino affect. Ford Sucks!!!! NEVER BUY ONE

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Freestyle?
I have owned a ford freestyle for the last six years. I found it to be everything I have wanted and needed in a vehicle. The choice of having to be able to carry 5 or 7 people or the choice to fold the seats down suits me to a T.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
To improve for me would be better gas mileage.

I went from a mini van to this. I have a 6yr old, 2yr old, and 5mth old. Fits us all perfectly. Very comfortable to drive.

Easy to get in and out of vehicle.
Good gas mileage.
Similar to a Volvo station wagon.
Nice work vehicle for a marketing person.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
Improve interior rattles.
Seat material is very cheap and soils easily.
Rear glass should open separately from rear door.
Outside body is very weak and damages easily.
Sound system.
Engine noise.
2006 Ford Freestyle Review:
Luckily we bought an extended warranty on this baby! Two tailights have gotten water in them and had to be replaced. These were not cracked or damaged. They leaked and shorted out the wiring. We have replaced the bulbs several times in 4 years. The air bag lights have been activated several times and when we took the car into the service department they indicated that there was no problem. The instrument panel gauges blew out this week and had to be replaced. Both A/C units have been replaced recently (two weeks ago). When we purchased the car back in 2006 they found a quarter inside the front quarter panel. We argued with the dealer about the rattle until they finally kept the car, dismantled the panels and out dropped the quarter. The car has a bumping noise in the front end upon acceleration. My biggest concern is that fact that each time we have repair concerns we can't get parts. This is very discouraging as a person who purchases a vehicle and expects to drive it for about ten years. My 99 Altima is still going strong with my daughter driving it to college with 125,000 miles on it. HENRY FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS ONE! Long Lewis ford has been exceptionally courteous and nice; however, once my warranty runs out We will be out of luck. We drove imports for years until my wife had to have the kid hauler. I think we are headed back to Japan for our next vehicle.

Have back glass open separately from the rear door.
Have one of the 2nd row seats either slide inward or fold forward for easier 3rd row accessibility.
2006 Ford Freestyle Review:
We love the ride, handling and look but have bad mechanical experience. We purchased it with ~20,000 mile and have all the recommended service done at regular intervals but still have been out over $1200 on the a/c (At ~ 55,000 miles) and am now facing another $800 for another problem (a clutch body?) (at ~76,000 miles) and the part is back-ordered for 6 weeks and the car is not drivable in the meantime.
I have bought extended warranties before and should have done so with this vehicle! Can't say I'd recommend purchasing a 2006 Freestyle.

Everything, MPG, Interior room, 7 Seats, Feet Space, Drives great, practical.
I have three car seats with so much room. It was made perfect for me and my family's needs.
Very easy to park and drive with no problem.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
My SEL sign fell of the back of vehicle, took it to ford and they replaced it for me.
Had to replace the brake pads, that's no fun.

Overall really great car.
Best feature is hand lock on the outside.
Good gas mileage.
Love two rows of back seats.

Interior beige color seems to absorb dirt - looks nasty before it should.
Dashboard scratches easily.
Seatbelt on middle seat is stuck - not good.

I hate the transmission. My warranty expired and at the same time my transmission starts making a loud whinnning noise. No one will fix the problem. They say it's just a noise all Fords make. I will NEVER buy another Ford!!!

The seating is comfortable.
To date, have not had any problems with my CVT transmission.
So far has been very dependable.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
Ford Motor Company should stand behind its craftsmanship when it comes to the transmission. If people are all having same problem, it would appear they might want to warn unsuspecting buyers.

We love it, especially in the snow.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Freestyle?
We have a BAD WATER LEAK EITHER AROUND THE WINDSHIELD OR THE SUNROOF. We have been to the dealership about the problem and the service writer told us that most of the water leaks come from around the windshield. I was just curious that there may have been a recall on this problem.
