Pros: What do you like about 2006 Hyundai Sonata?
Quiet ride, roomy and functional interior, aesthetically pleasing, plenty of power for all situations, heated seats work very well and are a lifesaver on cold New England mornings!!
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Hyundai Sonata?
Put track change controls on steering wheel, make Navigation/Bluetooth/Ipod connection options. Do not use GREEN backlighting, even the new elantra has a nice blue!! Change cupholder fittings, they are awful and don't hold cups well; if not for the fact I never drink anything in the car I would have had a major problem with this feature, or lack thereof. A sports model for some people would probably be a welcome addition as well (I like a softer ride personally).
2006 Hyundai Sonata Review:
EXTERIOR: The exterior to me is beautiful, moreso than the Azera, Camry or Accord in my opinion. Clean and simple, with nothing fancy works best for me.
INTERIOR: The interior is cavernous and nicely laid out compared to other cars I looked at. My only gripes were the lack of availability of some really necessary items like Navigation and Bluetooth or an Ipod connector. If the Sonata (or Hyundai in general) cannot get those items I will not be buying their products in the future.
RIDE: I have an 'LX' model 2006 Sonata, therefore I have the lower profile tires, which give a somewhat bumpy ride compared to the 16" tires, or so I hear. I never test drove the 16" wheels, but mine absorbs pretty much all bumps I encounter (which are plenty).
ROOMINESS: On occasion I have my girlfriend in the car with me, however it is rare that I ever need the back seats for more than my stuff, but when I do have rear seat passengers, they rave about how comfortable and roomy the car really is. I have sat in the back of my car and found it to be plenty adequate. The trunk has more cargo space than I really need right now, but I do like having that much room. My last car was a Chevy Cavalier (2004), so this car simply blows that out of the water in terms of space and comfort.
SUMMARY:
This car is a great overall car for anyone, and since its starting price is relatively low, it is a great beginner car for teen drivers, as well as for more serious drivers who would like to add power and creature comforts. However, those who are looking for some specifics like Nav and Bluetooth link and aux jacks for their Ipods best look elsewhere. For everyone else, there is no better value.

The look and the double headers on the rear I really like.
It drives very smooth and has lots of power along with great gas mileage on the hwy.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Hyundai Sonata?
I just bought it a week ago & I'm not to sure about the transmission. I feel it slipping when I take off. I don't know if this is normal.
Also, the gas pedal hesitates, and the steering wheel could have more controls on it.
I really miss the s.s. monte carlo I sold to purchase this car. Better gas mileage other then hwy.
2006 Hyundai Sonata Review:
Good car overall. I wouldn't say great yet, since I'm not sure about the hesitation on the pedal and transmission. But I'm taking it back to the Hyundai dealer where I bought it last week & I'll see how they are now with a complaint. I hope good.

2006 Hyundai Sonata Review:
104000 miles and running very well.
Just finished replacing the spark plugs and that's about all I've had to do to this car, other than hoses and belts.
Exterior and interior are holding up very well. Motor [3.3 V6] is performing like new. Front suspension is squeaking some now but that is not a big concern at this point. Had a chance to trade it in last November when I got a 2010 Kia Optima but decided to trade my 2008 Accent instead because this was much more car and had been so good to us.
Overall I can highly recommend this car if you are looking to buy used. Even after 100,000 miles everything works and is very dependable.

The exterior looks as good as Lexus.

Check engine light goes on and off especially after getting gas. You have to make sure the cap in tightened well.

2006 Hyundai Sonata Review:
4 everybody who is getting poor gas mileage: you need to get a fuel system flush and a new filter. I have been getting 29-31 mpg at about 65mph, so a dirty fuel system will drop your mpg!!

Hyundai is cheaply built. The service department at Hyundai dealer admitted to me the visors on both passenger and driver side brake for now reason. I just had to pay 226.00 to have them replaced. They would not cover them because I was 12000 miles over my warranty. (They would have paid for them if I had taken my car there for regular maintenance.) The visors are a defected component to the car. Hyundai will not stand behind their product regardless of admitting defective parts. I will not be purchasing the Genesis that I was planing to purchase. Good service is priceless.

Inoperable visors on a car are a safety issue. Hyundai is aware this is an issue, but will not stand behind their product. Consumers beware. I will never purchase another Hyundai product. P.S. They are rude in the service department.

Great car all around.
Runs quiet.
Great acceleration.
No issues except loose visors that were replaced under warranty.

Extremely poor gas mileage, mainly city driving avg. 13.3 mpg. The best I have ever gotten was 24.5 mpg mainly highway.

POOR gas mileage. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME AS TO WHY MY GAS MILEAGE IS SO BAD?
Also, poor design on cup holder and trunk seems very heavy.
