Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
I HAVE A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER WITH 24,000. MILES. SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2009, I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE POWER WINDOW CONTROLS, TRANSMISSION SEAL, HAD THE ESP REPROGRAMMED AND I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON CHANGING MY FUEL SENSING UNIT SINCE MY GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. PEOPLE WONDER WHY AMERICANS BUY JAPANESE AND JEEP IS WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
The ride is very smooth and quiet.
Interior is quite comfortable and looks great.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
Throttle is sluggish.
Transmission is terrible (replaced at 36k and still isn't quite right).
V6 is rated for 17/21 mpg and gets 14.4 mpg average (if I go 50 mph on a flat surface I can just reach 18 mpg).
Traction control still kicks in when it's turned off (very annoying losing power when trying to get on the interstate, not to mention dangerous).
Passenger leg room is lacking.
AWD is not as good as 4WD.
Visibility isn't great.

2006 Jeep Commander Review:
I traded in my 2005 F150 for this thinking that I would get an increase in gas mileage with a smaller vehicle that has a smaller engine. 1/2 mpg increase was not what I had in mind! I really liked the look of the Commander.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
The way it looks.
Drives well.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
The STALLING issue.... it's ridiculous... I've spend countless money on having it checked out and services... for this very reason.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
I love the look.
Sharp sporty and very comfortable.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
Need more knee room, dash is too low.
But most of all stop the leaking from the darn sunroof that has soaked my carpet ran down the front and back windshield on the inside. There is a major, major problem going on here. Chrysler needs to take responsibility here.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
It's an awesome looking vehicle. I always wished I would have one and now I do. It's really good in snow.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
I hate the interior. Even if you spill water it stains and it won't come out.
Sometimes when I'm driving it feels like it is going to stall. Knock on wood hasn't happened yet.
I also did notice when it rains and I open the driver's side door water spills out. I thought the seal on the door was bad, but obviously I'm not the only one that happens to.

2006 Jeep Commander Review:
I do like it. When I'm ready for a new vehicle, will I buy another one. I don't know yet. I've only had it a year so we will see.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
The looks.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
I've had nothing but problems out of my cluster - all my dash lights coming off and on, gages dropping to zero then bouncing off and on. If anyone had this problem send a response. Can't figure it out. Something electrical. Please help, email me.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
I love the looks of my Jeep.
It is very comfortable and my kids love the fact they can each have their own row of seats to sit in.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
Water drips out of the grab handles by the front doors and the seats are hard to clean.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
The ruggedness and feel of a Jeep.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
Take out the 3rd row. This was squeezed in & I don't see any need for it. The Jeep is just not big enough. It pushes the second row up close to the driver/passenger seats, leaving very little leg room. When the 3rd row is up you virtually have no trunk space, so it's not like you could really travel anywhere w/ 7 or 8 people because there wouldn't be any room for luggage, etc. I have been in compact SUV's that feel larger because of this.

2006 Jeep Commander Review:
First I have to say I have always been a Jeep lover...this is my ninth one & I'm only 30. I have owned several Wranglers, a Wagoneer, a Cherokee and a Liberty. When the Commander came out I had to have it. I bought my '06 model used. It had 8k miles. At 37k miles (just outside the warranty coverage) a transmission seal went out. Jeep did go ahead and cover it for me. The power window went out (I fixed at my expense). At 48k miles & 2-1/2 yrs old, the entire a/c system went out (Again fixed at my expense. Cost over $1,000). Now, w/ 54k miles the water pump went out, the engine overheated and left my baby & I stranded on the side of the road. I had to have the vehicle towed & was just told, 3 days before Xmas, it is going to cost $680 to fix it. I am very, very disappointed in this vehicle.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
The space for all passengers.
The great sound system.
All the features are great for a basic model.
Everything functions as it should.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
The blind spots.
The fuel consumption.

2006 Jeep Commander Review:
I have 4.7 v8. I have 154000 km on it now and it rides and handles just like new. I live in Canada where the snow is deep and the roads are always icy. And this Jeep has no issues with any of it. I never had stalling problems nor any leaks. All I can say is sorry you guys had issues.

The vehicle is great for my family. All the seats in the back are down and provides my dog tonnes of room and I have no issues with the commander at all.

I have a couple of trailer one for my boat and the other for my Harley and it tows like a dream - never feels like there is a drag or anything.

My wife and I love it .... she uses it exclusively as a winter vehicle and drive a Beetle in the summer and I love my Supercrew F150 ....... I prefer this vehicle for long trips and to get adventurous on the trails.....

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Commander?
It's a Jeep!

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Commander?
Transmission issues. Stalls every time I back out of the garage and put into gear. Now with 46K miles it's in the shop for a major transmission issue. I previously owned a Wrangler which I loved. After the transmission problems with this car I don't think I will ever buy another Jeep.
