Pros: What do you like about 2006 Kia Spectra?
The engine provides solid power, the interior is nice, the exterior looks nice, the engine is quiet, and the price is much lower than a Honda or Toyota.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Kia Spectra?
The acceleration and deceleration can be a little jerky, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Fun car to drive. Gas mileage is Ok.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Kia Spectra?
It needs a little more pep. Sometimes reverse is hard to find with the stick shift. Steering is a little too sensitive. Driver's seat a little too narrow for the small of my back. I'm 5'9" and weight 175 pounds...so I'm not a super large guy.
2006 Kia Spectra Review:
This has been a nice car to drive. Gas mileage is good, not great. It's not too quick from a stand still, but I'm not trying to race anyone. It could use a little more power when dropped into third gear for passing.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Kia Spectra?
I have the basic Spectra Ex - no power seats, fog lights or cruise control. It currently has 28,000 miles - I drive a lot in the course of my job. I live in Western Washington and travel frequently over two mountain passes that can present some challenges in the winter. The car handles them without a problem - and has made me a supporter of Goodyear tires. It holds it's speed going up hills, has plenty of power when passing other vehicles and gets 35 to 40 mpg depending on how I'm driving it.
I'm a short person - 5'- and find the car adapts readily to my shorter height. It is also roomy and comfortable for my daughter-in-law - all 6'2" of her.
I'm also an avid sea kayaker and transport my kayak on my car. I have the traditional roof mount system to carry the kayak, and for additional safety secure it front and rear to the undercarriage of my car. The car handles this additional "package" very well. I get minimal wind effects from passing 18 wheelers, and never have any concern about them blowing my kayak off the car.
I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for comfort, good mileage and a classy looking car at a reasonable price.

I can't offer any suggestions. I still find it hard to believe that I have a car that handles as well as this one does.

2006 Kia Spectra Review:
I own this car. I like it. When driven smoothly, the gas mileage is great and when I want to have some fun, there's power to get you going. Compared to it's competitors, it's an average performer, but, it's not a Honda or a Toyota and I'm happy to be different. I've had a few people compliment me on the car. They were all surprised it was a Kia. I bought and used this car to commute on the highway to and from work, 32 miles each way.
