The interior is comfy... the GPS... the infared heads up display... and the rear camera are great features.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus LX 470?
If this car came in hybrid...it would sell like crazy. The regular ones already do.
2006 Lexus LX 470 Review:
Although the gas mileage is tough on the pocketbook... the performance and reliabilty are in a clas by itself. The finest engineered SUV on the road or off road... when they come up with a hybrid LX470... I will be the first in line.

The pick-up, the ease of handling, the smooth drive and the navigation system
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus LX 470?
The rear seats need to fold into the car at the touch of a button. The tailgate needs to swing up or out, and another 6" split between the back two rows of seating.
2006 Lexus LX 470 Review:
After five years of owning a 2001 LX 470 I was told it was time for a new car. The problem was after test driving other SUV model cars there was no comparison. The pick up was the biggest difference. There is not another SUV of this size with the pick up and reliablity of pick up as the LX470. There is not a smoother SUV on the road. I bought the identical car and I would do it again. The only complaints are the same as they were in 2001. The third row seats are too difficult to operate and move in and out. The tail gate should also swivel out as in the smaller 470 model. I have to get into the car to remove groceries. I'd also like another 6" split between the the back two seats.

The automatic external smog / exhaust sensor that switches the A/C between inside and outside air is a great feature.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus LX 470?
A swing out / swing down lower tailgate would improve cargo access.

Better gas mileage perhaps.... but as a two time Toyota Landcruiser owner, I'm used to it.
2006 Lexus LX 470 Review:
I have had both a 2001 and a 2003 Landcruiser. I upgraded to the Lexus after a lot of research and thought. Boy... I'm glad I did. The difference in price between the LC and Lexus is well worth it; the interior finish is better and the ride absolutely superb. With the new engine, there is also a marked improvement in power and smoothness when shifing and passing other vehicles. I also LOVE the Bluetooth phone integration and pre-installed XM Radio.

The 470's new horsepower is quite an improvement. Now they should replace the antiquated transmission with a "tiptronic" style as most other manufacturers have.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus LX 470?
Change the transmission so you can downshift on the fly, and add a downhill speed limier for offroad use.Make the Nav System functional in all modes while driving. Go back to Michelin tires for better handling. Make the beep go away when locking/unlocking, it's an annoyance.
2006 Lexus LX 470 Review:
After only three weeks and almost 4000 miles, I've developed a love/hate relationship with the vehicle. Lexus has seen fit to "refine" the ride of the vehicle by using Dunlop tires instead of the Michelins we all loved. This has created more body roll in turns than I find acceptable. Stiffer sidewalls were better. In an effort to keep us safe, Many functions are disabled while the car is in motion, such as Navigation System input. Also, when locking or unlocking you are subjected to that insidious "beep" that not even the dealer can eliminate. I think that Lexus has forgotten it's off-road roots and has created a not so special vehicle-for-the-money. I'd rather have an older model.
