Comfortable.

Folded rear seat.

Need more power HP.
Need dip stick for trans fluid.
Hard to read panel during the day.
Rear suspension noise.
Road noise.
Poor AC.
Expensive parts.
Driver window control not performing well.

Exterior appearance.

Poor horsepower.
Rear suspension bad.
Too much road noise.
A/C and heat fan is too loud.
Trunk is too accessible to open. Can not be locked if in valet.
2006 Mercury Montego Review:
Good value, but needs some serious improvements.
Expected more from my Mercury.

The awd system and the cvt transmission.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Mercury Montego?
Put more chrome accents on radio knobs and a/c control knobs.
2006 Mercury Montego Review:
The 3.0(203hp) engine is more than enough to merge on highways and normal driving. If you are looking do the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds, then look elsewhere.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Mercury Montego?
Very comfortable to drive and ride.
Big trunk w/fold down seat was very useful.
Liked the 6 cd holder.
Cruise control very reactive.
Liked the idea of it being on a Volvo chasis for family safety reassurances in case of the unexpected.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Mercury Montego?
A/C could be more reliable.
Expensive to fix.
Put a better battery in it and make the windshield wipers easier to replace w/a standard car store bought application.
The mileage was very good when new but has declined even with suggested and regular maintenance.
2006 Mercury Montego Review:
Been a very reliable automobile. Being a Mercury I had very high expectations and for the most part it lived up to those expectations. Will seriously consider purchasing another Mercury or Lincoln when the time comes.

Plenty of room.

Mine has low profile tire and are costly.
6 cylinder - only 15-16 mpg in town but has plenty of power.

First impression was the sporty look for a 4 door, lots of space.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Mercury Montego?
The car is not weather proof, rain, leaves, pine needles, sand or whatever gets to the windows goes into the door and comes out holes in the bottom of the door. Mercury says it is their design, I say it is a design flaw. Moisture on the inside of the door cannot be good for it, I was told the drain holes are big enough it should not get plugged up. It is a bet I would not have taken if I knew about it.
2006 Mercury Montego Review:
City gas milage with me driving like an old lady is great 21-22 MPG. Highway is at best 25-26 MPG I was told 31 MPG was at 55 MPH. I have been across country 2 times with the car. The speed limit is 65 and 70 most of the time. Also the steering wheel seems to far away, 3 drivers in the car and we all feel like we have to scrunch up to get close enough to the top of the steering wheel. I bought the premier with most options, steering wheel does not telescope, I did not notice this on the test drive. My bad...
