2006 Toyota Prius Review:
It makes me look smart. The car makes total sense this day and age. The other Japanese manufactures are copying the Prius body style. Japanese suck when it comes to exterior design. They should copy the German vehicles.

Overpriced, software glitches, complexity, tendency to quit unexpectedly, unknown costs for battery disposal and replacement.
2006 Toyota Prius Review:
An interesting concept, that I fear has unexpected pitfalls for many buyers. Battery life, disposal and replacement costs are undetermined. Computer glitches can leave the car dead at the side of the road with no recourse other than towing to a dealer. After having that occur , I'll never purchase one of my own! I view this vehicle as more a political and lifestyle statement than a long-term keeper. Time will tell. Future hybrids will undoubtedly be an improvement.

it rattles very bad and Toyota won't fix it, gas guage doesn't work properly and they also won't fix it.
2006 Toyota Prius Review:
Overall we like the auto, it drives well but it has had a bad rattle since we purchased it and the Toyota dealer at first said they fixed it when they didn't and now they say all Prius' rattle so they won't fix it. The gas gauge doesn't move off of full for 200-250 miles and Toyota says there is no problem.

Great gas mileage plus outstanding features :
keyless ignition, awesome radio/CD, interiour styling, handling, actually the performance is surpringly good, rear camera, information center.

The antenna is a bit awkward.

This car is great. Performance is good, price is low, mileage is outstanding, features are terrific. It's fun to drive. What more can I say. GM should copy it since they cant/(wont) make anything close to it.

Same as the 5 features listed. Additionally the information provided by the computer has trained me into a better driver. If other cars had a direct readout of what happens when you floor the gas pedal they would drive differently. Great teaching aid.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Prius?
Wish the ventilation system was better with the AC off. I'd also prefer a manual system where I can turn off the heater instead of it coming on automatically. I'd also like to see other models of the Prius like a station wagon, pick-up truck, and a sports car. A lithium battery with plug in capability would be nice.

My wife and I own a 2005 Prius and a 2006 Prius. We are very happy with both cars and have only good things to say about them. I believe the Prius is the most advance automobile in the world. I think performance should not be measured in horsepower. All cars today have enough horsepower to drive sanely on our roads. I have never felt the Prius has ever lacked in horsepower and the cars they replaced was a 3 Series BMW and a Mini Cooper. Present MPG on both cars = 50+MPG

Mileage is solid. In two 800 mile test runs around LA and SFO, I got a solid 51mpg. Very very good.

Add Battery capacity and add a plug for overnight charging

Interior a little sparse, but easily upgraded to a pure EV. This is the car of the future.

Driver interface - ergonomics, revamp all instrumentation, dark interior. Mileage.
2006 Toyota Prius Review:
Mileage performance down from 45 to 35mpg. Horrible instrumentation -- so bad it is dangerously distracting while trying to drive. Screen access to climate and audio the most insane thing to fuss with. Weak heating and terrible defrosting. Buyer's remorse. Worst vehicle I've ever owned and a terrible driving experience. Not enough room to fit all my complaints about this car. Would not recommend it.
