Nice roomy car.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
There is nothing good about this car. I believe that it was designed as a stimulus package for the American Public. There is no way that simple repairs can be made by the owner. The VW dealership that I dealt with has endeavored to damage the car and then try to get me to fix it for an unachievable dollar amount. I simply, as a middle class American, can't afford to own a Volkswagon. They truly have monopolized constant repair of this car.
2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
Ok, for an affluent person who likes to visit their dealership on a monthly basis and aid the local economy with their money. Totally impractical for the average working person. You "WILL" spend twice the purchase amount in the maintenance of this car. You can not change the oil without a significant charge to turn off the change oil light. Parts pricing for this car is significantly higher, just look up calipers, oh by the way the rear is significantly higher than the front by only several hundred dollars.

It looks great, after four years..
There are cool semi-hidden compartments in the inside.
The gas mileage is fair to good.
It's a comfortable car to drive - even across country.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
I have tried to take my Passat to non-dealers to get it repaired, very simple things and the mechanics needed special tools or parts almost all the time, I could not even get my oil changed!
Things were starting to break right after my warranty had expired-sweet thanks for that one VW guys. To change out my brake and transition fluid-600 bucks unbelievable. It is somewhat of a moneypit for the $27,000 dollars it cost me, I have probably spent at least $4,000 unusual repairs.
2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
Good car, if you have the money for repairs, might as well buy a bmw or something that doesn't break down though. I will not buy another VW for at least 20 years.

Looks nice on the outside. Sold that it is German engineering, though realize after it is outsourced to the homeless to design.

Sell it and buy another car. Hopefully forget the headaches and poor service, as no vw dealer wants to talk to you once they hear you have a Passat as they realize you have a lemon.
2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
Engine light always on, runs hot, cooling system design breaks down at warranty time, must continue to repair after that. Sludge problems, ignition coil problems, coolant temp sensor problems, and dealers will try to get out of saying it meets recall conditions, so you have to pay for repairs. Horrible experience. Decreased my quality of life.

I would take it off the market. No one should sell such a piece of junk and call it an automobile.
2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
Bought this junk new and have had nothing but trouble with it so much in fact I am afraid to leave the house with it. Problems with ac, had to replace the system, at 36,000 miles, interior falling apart, ck engine lite on more times than I can remember, battery went bad had to reprogram the car, what is with that, several recalls and service to repair the recalls, strut loose under front end, oil changes $63.00 and this is just a few problems but the killer is it will burn 1 qt. of oil in 1,800 miles and VW said in their form USVWOILCONS0409 that is in spec. For the price of a VW you can buy a real car.

AC circulation does not blow cold enough when you're driving around in 100+ degree weather, even when you have limo tinted windows.
Had it for only two months, and it's been in the shop four times already. About to take it's fifth trip on Wednesday. 1st time, it stayed in there for 1wk, then an average of 3days on past 3 visits (no loaners). Check engine light is always going on.

THE COLOR AND THE SIZE WHICH I COULD GET IN ANY OTHER CAR.
I CAN THINK OF NOTHING THAT WOULD CHANGE MY OVERALL VIEW ON THIS CAR, NOTHING!!!
THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL YEARS AGO. IF YOU OWN ONE, YOU'RE STUCK WITH IT. POOR EXCUSE FOR A CAR.

2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
BURNS OIL BAD.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
ENGINE SHUT OFF PROBLEMS.
KEY RESET DUE TO SHORTAGE.
TIRES CAN NOT BE ROTATED FOR SOME REASON.
HAD TO HAVE THE HEATED SEAT REPAIRED. THE SEATS ALSO HAD TO BE REDONE. THE LEATHER LOOKED AS IF SOMEONE SPILT VARNISH ON IT IN SEVERAL SPOTS THE DAY I PICKED IT UP AT PURCHASE. AFTER THE HEATING UNIT IN THE SEAT WAS REPAIRED THE LEATHER ON THE SEAT LOOKED WORN OR STRETCHED.

Great power for a small engine.
Looks good.
Plenty of room inside.
Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
Poor workmanship/quality on the interior trimmings.
Difficult to maintain by yourself (i.e. replacing the air filter).
Parts starts to fail right after the warranty expires.
2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
I would not recommend buying this car. For the same price, I should have bought another Honda Accord.
