Vibrating when going 45 and the way it handles in rain and snow.

I think overall it's not what I expected and dealers and Kia manufacturer know that and hide it. Consumers are getting screwed.

Electronic fuses of this vehicle are not good, need some improvement.
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
Bad things about it: sloshing water noise in the dashboard, locking itself when you use remote to unlock it, I found it weird. I have a baby and if I forgot to get the keys out of my car as soon as I closed the door, doors will lock by itself and there is big problem. However is good on gas and I have no other issues with it. It shakes little bit when you drive more then 65mph, but I figure it's a small car.

Great mileage.
Nice interior.
Kick ass air...very cold!
Good leg and head room (I am 6'1").
Decent ride quality.
Paid only $13,000 brand new.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Kia Spectra?
The speakers only work on the right side when using the AUX input. No big deal as I hardly use the AUX connection.
There is a heavy mold smell when I use the air conditioner. I recently relocated from Arizona to South Carolina. I did not notice this odor in Arizona so I think it has to do with the humidity in SC. How to fix?

Overall, I like the car and have no major complaints.

Stop making things that need to be replaced often, so frikken difficult.
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
Ok here is the shake down. We bought this car from a dealer in Vista CA. The sporty exterior and the roomy interior is what attracted us to this car. Who knew things would get a little shady in the back end. As you have read in other reviews.
Our lights indeed turn on by themselves, or stay on after the car shuts off. Most people report it is their front light or parking lights, ours is the tail lights. It has been known to lock itself immediately after using the remote to unlock it.
We are also a little hazy on the clutch issue. Yes we bought it used at 56k miles. However nobody can burn a clutch in 4 months. So it has made the car unsafe to drive because it high revs instead of accelerates. Which makes it dangerous on CA freeways, we drive like crazies here. So apparently it had issues prior to us getting the car.
The paint chips easily so beware of soft touch or rag type washes.
The tires do need to be rotated often so it has even wear and we do not get the "shake" as others have been reported.
Overall this car is OK just OK. I don't suggest you put to much faith in just its appearance.

Mine is a Spectra 5:
Comfortable ride for the money, lots of room for the size, slightly sporty, 28-32 mpg, 70000+ miles and no major issues.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Kia Spectra?
- Road noise is a bit loud, but so it my friend's Vibe. Small cars...
- Recent water stain and moldy smell (see below).
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
I bought it for a commuter car, I drive bout 180 miles a day in it. Recently discovered a water leak on driver's side. I think it may be related to the air conditioner... I haven't used the A/C in weeks because of the cold weather and the water dried and left a dry water line on the drivers side. Not sure what it is from really, but I haven't had any other issues with it. Mechanically it seems to be sound for a cheaper made car.

This car has get up and go when you need it.
I haven't had any problems with this car. I bought it used(3,500 miles) and now I have 50,000 miles. I do need to get a new battery and will get new tires this fall (first non-oil change expenses).
There was surprisingly more leg room in the back seats than I expected.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Kia Spectra?
I bought the car because it was priced well and for the mpg. It is what it is. Basic. I drove it first to be sure it didn't ride like a go-cart (rough and no "go") and it didn't.
It's not a VW or BMW so if you want to complain about improvements you need to spend more money and get a higher quality non-basic car.

Very little, if anything. Sorry we bought it. RUN from this car.

Quality in construction would be a good thing.
A little bit of insulation and thicker carpet in the floorboards might help with the horrible road roar.
But our KIA Spectra has too many other problems for these improvements to make any difference.
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
Got this car from KIA of Clarksville, IN, in a very high pressured sales situation. We were dumb and naive. This car is quickly becoming a mess. No power or pick up when trying to get onto the expressway. The dealer lied to us about it being a new car, driven only by a salesman. Afterward, we found out through Carfax that the car had been a rental car for a dealer up north. Wish we'd checked on it sooner. Our bank said we were overcharged, paid more for the car than it is worth and more than a regular bank would finance it for, due to the miles already on it. We went back to the dealer, but couldn't return it. We were only given one key to the car, they said it was lost, but they didn't give us another one. Just prayed we wouldn't lose the one key because they are expensive to have made. We have had problems with the battery and replaced it. Still, a few times the car has acted like the battery is dead or not connected, but it just as mysteriously works again, so we can't fix it. Headlights don't turn off sometimes and it often relocks itself. It also has a sloshing water noise that it makes in the dashboard that doesn't seem to affect anything and we could have the car "burped" by the dealer for about $45.00 every so often. In all my years of car ownership, I never heard of such a thing! The molding trim along each side of the front windshield keeps popping out and sticking up. Have glued and sealed it down. Recently, it has suddenly begun leaking water into the floorboard when it rains and we can't figure out where it is coming from. The car stinks like sour laundry and I can't stand to get in it. For THIS we got into a debt that we can't get out of because the car isn't worth what we owe. Sure learned our lesson. NEVER AGAIN!

I like the look and extras features of the car.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Kia Spectra?
1) I can not ever put a full tank of gas in this car because it will stall until you burn off the gas.
2) There is something wrong with the locks, I will unlock the car with the remote, they will automatically relock themselves, then if you proceed to unlock the driver's door with the key, the alarm will go off.
3) On the highway, when you hit right at 65, the car will shake.
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
Overall, I would not recommend this car to anyone. I bought it because I thought Kias were supposed to be safe, this car is far from it. I am very disappointed about it.

Low cost, good MPG.
The thought that the warranty would protect me from problms.

Better build quality, higher quality interior.
A more solid front end.
2007 Kia Spectra Review:
The car seems decent enough when new but it doesn't take long to discover how poorly built the car is. I have severe front vibration at highway speeds that Kia can't seem to fix and now I'm on the hook for all "adjustments".
I also have a lot of water leaking into the rear floorboards bad enough to be causing mold.
Interior vinyl is starting to crack and split already and audio system is substandard.
It is the most troublesome car I have ever owned and it has 1/3rd the miles as other cars I have owned.

I like the warranty and the cost of the 2007 Kia Spectra.
The back seat is roomy for the kids.
The car drives smoothly and gets great mileage.
This is about where it ends for me.

I have had my spectra to the dealership 9 times for a gas contamination issue. My gas canister has been replaced 4 times. The car stalls out after the tank is filled and will stall while driving and while idling. I have had it stall on the highway with cars coming at me. The dealer keeps saying they fix it, but it happens over and over. The manufacture won't do anything about it, but say they will keep fixing it over and over. I fear the car is unsafe and if gas is leaking to other parts of the car, causing it to stall (as I have been told by the dealer), then what happens if I get in a fender bender with my kids and the car explodes and ignites from the gas leak and sparks ? I would NEVER recommend this car to anyone.
