Pros: What do you like about 2007 Mazda CX-7?
Engine performance.
Auto Transmission manual shift option.
Handling.
All wheel drive system.
Driving comfort on long journeys.
Gas mileage >30 mpg at 65 mph (no wind & Canadian gallon).
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Mazda CX-7?
Speed up transmission gear changes.
Softer plastic on door arm rests.
Better speedo gauge.
Power outlet in rear cargo area.
iPod jack.
Cool down ventilation air without having to use A/C.
2007 Mazda CX-7 Review:
I have 70,000 miles on my Cx7 driving highway and offroad in Alberta, Canada. I am a 'driver' and the Cx7 is a great compromise work vehicle that performs like a sports car yet fords rivers with ease.
I replaced the stock tires at purchase and run Nokian G2 - expensive but worth it - got 45k miles on first set. A turbo diesel with manual shift could be a worthwhile next iteration.

Pros: What do you like about 2007 Mazda CX-7?
Comfortable driving position with enough power to get you out of trouble.
Certainly enough room with rear seats down to accommodate luggage for a Snowbird flying south.
Useful storage between drivers and passengers seat except some misguided designer put a power outlet in there instead of at the rear.
Bonus ...18 inch wheels.
Front windshield wiper works very well but needs longer time periods for mist.
Love the rear seat fold flat releases..top marks for that.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Mazda CX-7?
I obviously have the cheap version ..Air control is truly lousy as when stationary hot air pours in if you don't have the AC on...also engine smells comes in with it. No rear passenger or cargo area 12 volt outlet(Come on Mazda get with it). Premium fuel..a V6 would be a better package. No outside air temp. (good to know when it is freezing). The inside ledge you have to lift your feet over to get in (not appreciated by ladies with high boots or heels). INSTRUMENT VIEWING...NON EXISTENT on a cloudy day or with the sun in front. Should have a modern digital & switchable MPH - KM as the scales are really pathetic. Braking...if you are a little old lady you are in trouble hopefully the airbags will save you.
Don't keep any cans of soft drinks on board if you are driving on less than perfect roads or they will explode on opening.
Definitely an SUV that needs back up warning system AS STANDARD !!!!! also...guess where my front bumper is..forward parking is a guessing game just like the rear and I am an over 6 ft driver.
Wind shield wiper does not have a long enough delays for different rain conditions..(Try looking at a Chrysler Pacifica control system)
2007 Mazda CX-7 Review:
I like both the pugnacious look of Mazda CX-7 and driving it on GOOD roads..it handles very well for a somewhat aggressive driver like myself but sure gives your liver a kick on rougher roads. Certainly a nice sized luggage section if you lower the rear seats. I hope my Air compressor holds up after reading about so many complaints of failures. The basic air controls really suck .....an investment in digital control package is a must but should be standard these days. For a first try Mazda it's not bad but really needs refining without costing an arm and a leg. The CX-9 is much better but you had better have a good income to afford one !!!!

Highway mileage is not 24, barely 21-22; sucks gas for 18 gal tank.

Need better tire, mileage.
It needs better ac.
My cx 7 has been in the shop 6 times with in two years.
And when speaking to Mazda they refuse to back their product.

Great feel and performance. Performs like a sports car and handles extremely well.
Great sounding Bose Sound System
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Mazda CX-7?
Not very happy with Tire Wear. I have 50,000 Km on it and I am sure I will be replacing tires before the winter. Never had to replace this soon. Turbo lag is evident.
Check Engine Light has come on at least 5 times..EVAP problem.
Intelligent Key System...not very intelligent. Replaced both Key Packs, does not lock when doors close consistently. Been a pain in butt!!
2007 Mazda CX-7 Review:
Overall the CX-7 has been a fun to drive suv that handles like a sports car. Great performance and awesome looks. Some minor irritations which really have not dampened my enthusiasm for the vehicle.

I like the way it handles, real smooth and simple.
The exterior has the best look for an SUV.

Put tires that will last longer than 30,000 miles, have never bought tires this soon for any type of a vehicle, I am so disgusted that I'm gonna have to buy new tires already.

With me it is form then function. It is a looker (copper red) and the engine is fast when you need the reserve power unlike the Rav4 and CR-V that I drove. I got the 2 wheel drive (maybe 1 big snow in SW Ohio) and no sunroof and leather heated seats for about $24,000. I am pleased. I have a GPS that I move to different vehicles. Plenty of room in the rear. The driver sit high and can see the road well.

Shifter is confusing and takes a little to get used to.
Too easy to get into manual when not intended.
Should have lighted vanity mirrors, auto door locks and auto headlights on all of the models.
2007 Mazda CX-7 Review:
I drove the Honda '07 CR-V and the Toyota '07 Rav4 and did not like the lack of power for passing. I was coming from a PT Cruiser turbo and wanted similar power. Gas mileage is not as good as the others, and it uses premium, but that was not a big consideration for me as I drive it less than 9,000 miles a year.
