Pros: What do you like about 2007 Toyota Matrix?
Bought 1 yr used. Have had 3 yrs now; good fuel economy. quick handling & turning radius. Versatile interior. I added cruise control & real wiper; both are factory pre-wired & simply connect parts from Chevy (Vibe) or salvage yard.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Toyota Matrix?
Front seats are not comfortable on long trips; need information for upgrade options such as seat from Camry or Lexus if same bolt pattern.
Cannot figure out how to add rear window washer.

Economy is as advertised 31 mpg.
Lots of room.
Good seating position.
Great versatility with regard to seats.
Good economy/performance combo.
Lots of compartments.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Toyota Matrix?
Needs telescopic steering wheel.
Stereo needs better sound.
Seats could be more supportive and comfortable and front seats need to be able to go back further.
2007 Toyota Matrix Review:

I love my Toyota Matrix, mileage is just as advertised, I travel a lot so not having to stop for gas several times is great.
The cargo area is a must for those long shopping trips.
Sound system is great.
For a small car the get up and go when passing is unbelievable.
I would buy this car again.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Toyota Matrix?
The seats are comfortable (even the rear seats) but they stain too much and hard to get clean.
The cargo area floor is slick and needs a light rubber or carpet covering.

Great economy in town.
Good on long trips.
Very versitile rear seat layout.
Good fuel mileage.
Roomy interior for size of car.
Nice sound system.

Windshield wipers on back window a must.
12 volt power outlets go off when ignition is off.
Tachometer swings up and down when the road surface is the slightest bit wet or icy.
Very light NOT good, this vehicle is very dangerous in winter conditions.

EASE OF ENTERING
CARGO BAY GREAT FOR ease in LIFTING OUT HEAVY MATERIALS

Needs much better handling in bad wet or snowy weather. Tachometer swings up and down when the road surface is the slightest bit wet or icy.
Fuel economy is not even close to the highway 34 mpg ( I am averaging 26-28) highway.
Instead of the cheap felt on the roof why not just plastic? I haul hay and wood, and a goat in the car and hay always dangles down from the felt. (Make it more like the Element)
I buy a spare (real tire) but it cannot fit into the donut hole! So I have to carry the spare behind the passenger seat.
In order to get side air bags, I had to order a car with a roof window. This is a really stupid package!
Front seats could go back further for long legs.

i have rust spots on the front fenders at bottom ,on the 4 doors ,on the atchback door and a few spot on the roof. My dealer tells me it,s the metalic brake shoes that does that. what do you think.

Check the paint on all vehicle. I had a 2004 sienna ,red and the paint was chipping,now 2007 matrix the paint is rusting. Something wrong with the paint or the clearcoat on the the cars

Steering wheel too far from driver, needs telescoping feature, chrome rims around intruments cause glare, instruments too hard to read, sun visors don't help on side windows, rough riding, steering has "dead" feel, some wind noise, 16" tires contribute to rough ride, electric windows die immediately when ignition is turned off, horn is horrible sounding, front seat belts uncomfortable, 12 volt power outlets go off when ignition is off.
2007 Toyota Matrix Review:
My wife and I test drove it about 50 miles but apparently, not long enough to notice the cons that I have listed. Would gladly give it back to the dealer and keep our 1998 Sienna Van if our financial loss wouldn't be too much. I suggest any prospective buyer to test drive and carefully note the cons above to see if they will be a constant source of irritation to them. We did switch to 15" wheels and tires from a Corolla sedan which helped the ride somewhat.
