Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Stow-and-go 2nd row seats are a great feature.
Front seats are very comfortable for long distance drives.
Dual DVD screens.
Large center console with plentiful storage.
Easy to do your own maintenance (and you'll do a lot!)

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
The brakes were a problem (as you can determine by the numerous internet threads related to 08 T&C brake problems) until I upgraded the pads and rotors at a local brake and muffler shop. Chrysler or other national brake and muffler shops won't do the upgrade.
The engine burns oil at an alarming rate (1 quart+ per 1000 miles) for a newer engine. My neighbor's van has the same problem.
The sliding doors have never worked properly. The doors start to shut and then reopen like there is something blocking their path.
A/C has broke twice in 2.5 years.
My overhead DVD console rattles like crazy!

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Review:
I don't want to sound nit-picky, but I feel like the overall quality of this van is sub-par. I have owned it for 3 years. During this time the following items have been a problem:

- Tires wore out @ around 25k miles
- Brakes wore out @ 15k miles, 29k miles, 45k miles
- Rear power doors will not close; keep reopening
- A/C stopped blowing cold air...twice
- Engine burns an alarming rate of oil (1+ quart/1k miles)
- Annoying rattling sound coming from front suspension
- Annoying rattling sound coming from overhead DVD console

Conversely, my previous vehicle was a Mazda MPV minivan. I got 75k miles out of the original tires AND brakes. It never burned a drop of oil. I never had the car to the dealer for ANY repairs. It was rock solid with no rattles and excellent fit and finish. AND this was a 2004 model!

DO NOT BUY a 2008 Chrysler T&C unless you are a mechanic and enjoy spending your free time working on your vehicle.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Plenty of room in this van.
Interior nice.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Redo the braking system - getting ready for fourth set of pads and rotors only 46,000 miles. I have a 2002 Bonneville and put pads on at 72,000 and the car now has 104,000 miles on it. You do the math, on the same set of pads and rotors.
Replaced tires at 36,000 miles Yokohama tires were junk - kept them rotated every 4,500 miles. Yes, expensive to replace.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Review:
Overall, hasn't been too bad. Not sure if I would buy another one though especially with the undersized rotors and pads.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Better exterior styling than previous gumball design.
7 passenger seating.
Stow & go seating -Like old station Wagon seating.
Engine completely out from inside passenger compartment - Easier & cheaper to service.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Poor overall design from the inside out. Dash control placement is a mostly out of reach nightmare. Rear window spoiler makes it difficult to clean rear window.

During warranty: Brakes went out, remote keys fail work, vehicle shuts down & won't start unexpectedly.

Shortly after warranty: A/C died from leakage, engine oil leakage, rear wiper blade replacement & assistance is non-existent in manual & not listed in replacement guides. It is also impossible to lift rear blade up enough to clean rear window adequately. Tires are of an unpopular size & are difficult to find & expensive to replace. Difficult to completely lock down plastic air filter cover latches. Brakes went out after warranty again. Brake rotors are of poor design quality & are under sized. Lousy problem prone electronic keys are too bulky, too costly to replace & fail to operate about half of the time. Oddly & different sized front wiper blades are a pain to deal with. Vehicle has been a constant headache. Only thing worse than the actual vehicle is the different Chrysler service departments it's been to. Vehicle service / repair manual is non existent or not available to general public. High road noise & less than desirable handling in high winds or inclement weather. Our larger & older van is less problem prone.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Review:
Avoid. Problem prone. Vehicle should be recalled & scrapped due to poor overall design, quality & serviceability. Too bad it's the only U.S. manufactured mini-van left in production. May be better off with VW mini-van that is almost identical or a completely other vehicle. Would never purchase again & likely never purchase a Chrysler product again due to poor service & product quality.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Full of wonderful options, double DVD players with wireless headphones, and so on.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Are you kidding? This entire manufacture needs to be burned down and adapt a new product engineered from the scratch up.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Review:
Since day one I had nothing but problems.
After I bought it, power doors are not functioning properly, sensor problem .. Went to dealer, fixed under warranty.
AC system dead, dealer, fixed under warranty.
Wheel presser sensor giving low pressure while the pressure is right, dealer .. fixed under warranty.
Now it is out of the warranty because I passed the 75,000k.
I started having electrical failure, where all the dashboard start flashing, wiper moving, headlight flashes, nothing electrical works, no turn signals, lights or brake signals.
So far I took it to the dealer 3 times, the first time I paid $700 to change a computer module that they thought it might fix the problem, but it only got worst, afterward I still have the same problem, but now the wiper fluid signal doesn't come on any more, the brake signal come on the dashboard whenever I pass 50,000, stays on for seconds then disappears, took it to the dealer again, they fixed couple of recalls and couldn't stimulate the flashing dashboard problem, advised me to test it again and as soon as the problem occurs, to bring it to the dealer. It happened, took it to the dealer, the examined it for 4 hours, and couldn't fix it, and they wanted to charge me 4 hours of work = $400 for a problem that is not fixed!!!! Didn't pay *&^%*&^% and still going to take it again to the dealer, this time if not fixed, I am calling the consumer protection.
Nothing but problems since I got it, not to mention the brakes.
Never .. ever .. ever in my entire life, I went to fix a car as much as I suffered with this peace of junk, my biggest mistake I didn't listen to people asking me not to buy a Chrysler.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
It was reasonably priced.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
The brakes have to be replaced once a year! No lie! Chrysler even sent us a letter that said the brakes were defective and offered to pay for a certain percentage of the brakes to be replaced depending on the miles on the vehicle. Problem is- they replace them with the same defective brakes every time. Why won't Chrysler recall this???

The tires on this vehicle come in a size only made by Yokohama especially for this vehicle. Price for new tires??? Ohhhh, only $800.00

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
I felt it was my dream vehicle to enjoy since I have a disability in closing doors and opening them and driving sometimes. This van really helped me out because of the simplicity of the high tech buttons and on the bells and whistles on it. Nice for a family for sure and travel.
Great back up camera, heated seats front and passenger seats.
Swivel and Go with table to insert for tail gating or picnic.
Center storage for when you hike or run.
GPS and dual t.v.'s with dvd player.
Sunroof awesome.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Re-do the whole brake system. Very poor for this model. Brakes burn out quick. Few months after driving it they squealed like crazy over speed bumps, stop signs, and on highway they would shake the van when pressed for slow down. Could not safely drive over 45mph without the shake going on and concerned me. Took to the dealer for brake check and they said it was something else causing the squeak. Drove the van more and again squealing upon stop signs and signals. Took my van back to dealer and they said needs new brakes but don't have them in...well don't want to drive unsafely so I took to midas for brake job. Work completed and enjoyed the ride for few weeks. Again the squealing began and took to dealer and was told can't repair under warranty you took out to another shop. Told them just fix the brakes to allow us safe ride. Paid for the brake and rotors again to fall under warranty next time- After almost two years of owning this vehicle it has been very displeasing to have the brake system act up and not enjoy this classy van. Praying I won't have to go back in for brakes. aiyeee......

Another issue we are having is the back seat bench is not working properly and has been broken twice and I am praying this falls under warranty. The part is on order. hmmmm..... maybe it's time for a new vehicle. First vehicle to give me so many problems and barely two years old with 19000 miles on it.

A Chariot for a Mom, who is busy with to-do's but brake system is unreliable and stresses one out. Safety issue for sure.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
The space inside the van is good for my family.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
I got the van used at about 36,000 just passed the warranty. Possibly it needs brakes. The van did not turn on today (10-27-10). I hope it's just the battery and nothing else. However, the engine light turned on, then flashed. God, I hope it's nothing serious. As many miles this vehicle has, it should turn on, and I should not have a bad battery. what's worse is I'll be stuck with a car note.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Sound system sounds great.
Kids love the overhead movies.
Comfortable seats.
Love the rear back-up camera.
Gas mileage is pretty good.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
The cruise control stopped working properly at less than 20,000 miles -- shifts down a few gears into high-RPM hyperdrive instead of just downshifting 1 gear while going downhill at 45mph -- and Chrysler tells us that's just the way it is.

Our electrical system went haywire several times recently, with the horns honking, door alarm beeping, windshield wipers wiping and windshield washer fluid spraying out until it empties itself. Dealer was not able to determine cause but has replaced something in hopes that will fix it.

Brakes wore out WAY too soon and had to replace brake drums and calipers, both front and rear. Was reimbursed for some of the cost for the front brakes, but not the rear.

Also, you can't leave the rear windows open when you leave the car, because if it rains it pours down into the vehicle.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country Review:
I would have a hard time recommending this vehicle overall, especially now that I've been told that I just have to live with the cruise control not working properly, even though I identified the problem during the warranty period.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Interior design and sensibilities are great.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
First off, how about making a van that actually works? The brakes failed at 18,000 miles and the transmission failed while we were 6 hours from our home at less than 24,000 miles. This vehicle is junk and I am sorry we ever purchased it.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
The design, the interior, the comfort, the room.
Seems like a nice, heavy vehicle, rides nice.
Gas mileage is good.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
Very dangerous. My electrical functions completely shut down. Totally dead panel. No wipers, radio, controls, lights, windows. Got the vehicle home and noticed brake dust all over the rims. Now see reviews all over the internet about the infamous brake problems. The roof design is contoured in such a way that all moisture is channeled right into the sliding door groove. Freezes shut with only minimal precipitation. Then the sensors register that doors are ajar, have to drive w/ cabin lights on and beeping at you. Can't open from inside either. Then when car gets warm the door starts jiggling and you have to stop to shut it. Totally not safe w/ my kids in this van! No way should a vehicle this new have so many major problems. I would otherwise love the van, but cannot give it a good rating w/ these issues being so prominent. I am expecting a total run around from the dealer. I'm sure I'll be responsible for fixing the brakes at full cost every few thousand miles. They'll tell me my electrical issues are not part of the warranty I have and they've never heard of anyone having those problems (actually, they've already told me that) even though all you have to do is look online and see the list of complaints. And I guess I'll just have to get used to carrying hot water out to my van with me in the winter to unfreeze my doors.

Cannot recommend. Stay away from it.
