Nice styling overall. Handles well. Comfortable ride. Great safety features.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?
Steering wheel mounted stereo controls not available. Parking brake should be conveniently located to center console. Keyless entry should be standard. heated seats should have high/lo option.
2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:
Overall, I love my escape hybrid. I drove a Liberty before and loved everything except the fuel consumption. The escape hybrid compares well to the Liberty except for the convenience of the parking brake placement, steering wheel mounted radio controls, and information center that doesn't allow me to check things like tire pressure.

Fuel economy, once the engine has warmed up, you can drive through town (up to 28 MPH) on battery power. Everytime you brake, it recharges the battery.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?
Lighten the rear hatch, it is kind of heavy when trying to close with one hand.
2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:
I find this vehicle perfect for both city and highway driving, very comfortable seating, and all of the switches are easily accessible and clearly marked. The navigation system and vehicle information system is great.

got the full meal deal and love it.we tow it behind our motorhome, perfect. fold the back seats down flat, it holds 15 18 gallon rubbermaid tubs.
absolutely no complaints about power. seats are very comfey, and gets 29 to 32 mpg, about 400 miles per tank.
also burns 85% corn squeezins. what more could you ask for, energy credits on your tax returns, oh yeah.

I like the smooth look of the new 2008 Ford Escape, especially with the chrome in the front. But, I just purchased on 8/27/07 and the rubber is coming off the doors already (9/12/07). Six days after purchasing the cable line to the accelerator broke (dangerous).

The Escape simply does not have enough power. I am almost afraid to drive on the highway. It's just barely over the summer and the wind blows the vehicle on the highway at a speed of 55 mph. Even with traction control on and in the rain, the tires seem very unsafe. This is just not a good safe car and Ford can do better than this! This car is okay for someone who just goes to the grocery store only.

Please do not purchase this car without research and careful consideration. If you plan to drive children and/or other family members. Remember, this car does not feel safe. It is however, beautiful.

Great gas mileage for an SUV. Good visibility, Air bags all around. Very nimble in traffic.
