Pros: What do you like about 2008 Ford Taurus?
Love everything about the Taurus, very nice car for the money. Wish I would have gotten two.
Fuel mileage is very good ,compared to Chrysler products, and a few others.
Overall this is a great deal and one heck of a car. This is coming from a die hard Chevy guy. Lovin it.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Mainly interior color brown dash grey seats. Come on Ford, nice car interior could have been better.
As for problems, yes, paint and alignment of body panels. Was fixed after 3 trips to dealer. Alarm was goofy at purchase, fixed it second trip.
Replaced 1 key /remote was problem.
Suspension noise front. Still not fixed, made attempt to fix, realign frame. Was told have recall on struts.

A very nice family /traveling car. Good gas mileage.

2008 Ford Taurus Review:
My transmission slips in 1st to 2nd at take off when first driving in a.m. and at other times in take off or around corners it is slushy. Ford has looked into this 3 times with different results. Other than this, I believe my vehicle can go at least 200,000. It's a pleasure to drive especially on long trips. I have driven 65,000 miles in 31 months.

Interior and exterior - very well designed.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Driving on Minnesota roads feels more like ice skating.
Gas mileage is only 21-24 mpg.
2008 Ford Taurus Review:
I like the car design and handling on good roads but when the roads get bad I drive my 2000 merc. for that little bit safer feeling.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Ford Taurus?
Seats six comfortably yet responsive handling (keep in mind it is Grandpa's ride). Room for Kids aged from 14 to 3 without hearing any complains.
Bought used and both better suited for my needs than other vehicles and at a price thousands of dollars less. Parts are readily available and not overpriced. Seems somehow more 'solid' feeling than other choices.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Love to have seen some additional choice between fabric and leather, it's an improved seating fabric over Freestar but a few more bucks spent would make a world of difference here. Why not a synthetic leather (polyurethane) which would wear like iron, clean up easy and look great. Bet that upgrade would open more than a few wallets.
2008 Ford Taurus Review:
My previous ride was a awd Montana Van so of course I love the gas mileage and handling of the T/X. Might not be as much fun as wife's Tiburon but a lot less cramped. While I understand Ford's decision to concentrate on the FLEX I actual prefer the T/X design and wife hates the Flex look.

THERE WILL BE NO IMPROVEMENT, I WILL UNGOVERN THE CAR. WHY STOP AT 111MPH TOP END SPEED? WITH THE POWER IT GOT, IT SHOULD OF BEEN GOVERNED AT 140MPH, SO IT COULD BE UP WITH OTHER 3.5 COMPETITORS AUTO MAKERS.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Ford Taurus?
I liked everything about Ford Taurus up until 25,000 miles. Then I started having problems. The front towers stated creaking and crunching. I took it back to the dealer four or five times to find out what the problem was. I was told they could find nothing wrong. The car is out of warranty now, the creaking and crunching is much worse. Today I had the brakes checked because of a grinding sound. The rear brake pads were partially metal to metal. This car has been maintained by Ford dealers from the start. They have rotated the tires and supposedly checked the car over every time. Now I have an expensive brake job to do. Never once was I told that I should do something with the brakes. This is a lease car and I liked it so much that I was going to purchase it. Not now. I am afraid of it now. I will pay the penalty for the over mileage. Cut my losses and run.

Do something about service. Ford should help me with my problems.

Everything about the 2008 Taurus is exactly what it should be for the price you are paying. It feels very solid, it's HUGE, holds 6 laundry baskets worth of clothing in the trunk. If the mob would have had this car, graveyards would be empty.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
The only issues I have with this car are the steering column not telescoping, should have a power telescope for this price/class, and the fuel economy sucks. I have an AWD though...
2008 Ford Taurus Review:
For the price, this car can't be beat. It looks better, handles better, rides smoother, etc... than any other car anywhere near this price range. Mine turns heads everywhere I go with after market MSW type 12 20" wheels.

Large trunk and roomy interior.
Leather heated seats are very good.
Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Not enough legroom for 6' driver. Needs two more inches of wheel base. Elevated driver seat raises center of gravity and makes car feel unstable in cornering. Further, the steering wheel does not telescope nor tilt downward far enough for a lower seating position if the seat could be lowered enough to improve the center of gravity. Compared to my 1996 Mercury Cougar, driving my 2008 Taurus just doesn't hack it.
2008 Ford Taurus Review:
The car is okay, and was bought because the center console was the only one I could find that met my need. Would not buy this car again if I had a better choice.
