Pros: What do you like about 2008 Volkswagen R32?
The value of the car.
Rarity.
Stock exhaust sounds great.
VW/Audi enthusiasts know it, no one else does.
Well worth keeping in the long haul.
Handles well.
Comfortable.
Plenty of features.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Doesn't turn as many heads as my 67 Mustang.
Not as powerful stock parts as STI or EVO.

2008 Volkswagen R32 Review:
First, let me say I get 27.5 mpg in my R32 regular street driving, no highway with plenty of stops and waiting at lights. People really need to learn how to drive to conserve gas. No, I do not drive like a flat out senior citizen.

This car is great all around. The only real thing that bugs me, because I'm a perfectionist, is the stainless steel sticker around the shifter. It is bubbling up in mine, out of the other 2 I looked at, this was the only one with the issue though. Aside from that, I couldn't have asked for a better car for the money.

It retains its value, is very fun to drive, has a nice sound system, very nice seats, tons of features. And good god does the engine sound good. If you think STI's sound good go side by side with this car and you will think they sound like a ricey little four banger. Sometimes I even prefer the sound of this car over my classic mustang with a 5.0 and open exhaust.

To top it off, it's AWD, which is a huge selling point being in Colorado. I wanted a Camaro but they are only RWD. I'm much happier with the gas mileage and rarity of this car. plus....I get rabbit/GTI insurance rates. It only costs me about 140 bucks a month for insurance. Hell, my Jetta was more expensive on insurance for years.

I say if you can get your hands on one of these, take the opportunity.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Volkswagen R32?
All wheel drive and DSG are sweet.
Engine power and exhaust note add lots of smiles.
Exclusivity makes for lots of turned heads and positive comments at the gas station.
Interior excellant w/great ergonomics and seating-as good as any Audi.
Great handling and response and brakes would stop an 18 wheeler!

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Air hammer when sunroof open is brutal-need to add an aftermarket deflector.
Being able to tilt out the sealed back windows would be a nice touch also.
Gas mileage averaging 20 mpg could be better-a 7th gear for highway cruising would help here.
Bluetooth feature does not work in US-not sure what needs to be done technically to rectify this.
A 4-door version would make it more convenient and negate the spouse concerns over only 2 doors.

2008 Volkswagen R32 Review:
Great handling and performance.
Mileage improving with every fill up as engine breaks in.
Excellent interior and cabin is quiet.
Love the individual climate controls and heated seats.
Flexible hatch/seating make it a useful hauler.
Backseat has more room than an A4.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Volkswagen R32?
The best in its narrow target-market niche: the guy or gal who doesn't have to impress anyone (except for him or herself).

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Mirrors should be larger, and the passenger-side mirror should tilt downward automatically when the reverse gear is engaged. 7th gear would be grand!

2008 Volkswagen R32 Review:
It's the most complete car that I've ever had, and I've owned everything from SL500's to BMW 3's and 5's. It doesn't need to be an STI or an Evo. It's a completely different kind of auto for a different purpose and a different driver. Home to job to grocery to weekend trip to long haul: this is the best little GT going, P E R I O D. Kudos to Mitsu and Subu; BRAVO, VW!

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Love the car and accellllleration, instant power fun and easy to drive fast a controlled. Brakes are supurbbbb..The trans paddles are great choosing to go down a gear or two is instant and painless, The interior has all kind of usable spaces and all is at hand with great ergos..a driver's car..got lots of head room I'm 6'2" and rarely fit well in some cars..feel "at home after just a few miles" looking forward to getting it to 100 K and beyond..

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Bluetooth??? Are we on a separate planet from the Germans...don't they know the market here?? Bluetooth dealer installed costs are in the sky.
Need a seventh gear or wider ratios for highway speeds.
Mirrors are a bit smallish.

Overall a solid GT, very comfortable, not quite as fast as I expected, yet easily attracts notice of the constabulary.

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Smooth power delivery, DSG, and AWD.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Volkswagen R32?
Needs an overdrive gear to improve MPG -- it certainly has enough power to lug around at lower RPMs.

2008 Volkswagen R32 Review:
Poor man's RS4. It's not perfect, but a better than most and more civlized than boy-racer STIs and EVOs.
