Pros: What do you like about 2009 Dodge Avenger?
A excellent purchase. We traded in a 2004 Chevy Malibu Classic with 96,000 miles.
Vehicle has sharp exterior lines, with a Challenger look to it.
Gas economy is really great, better than our old car, which was also a 4 cly.
I could go on and on with all of the PRO's, such as instrument panel is sharp and configured just right. On and on.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Avenger?
Cannot think of any negative comments.

I LOVE MY DODGE AVENGER. I HAVE'NT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR YET, AND HOPE I DOESN'T.
IT'S A GREAT HIGHWAY CAR, AND IT ALSO GIVES GOOD GAS MILEAGE.

I WOULD GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE COMPARTMENT SPACE, AND LESS PLASTIC, BUT OVERALL A GREAT CAR.

Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Avenger?
I have an annoying noise in the rear. They have tighten everything they say that can be tightened, replaced shocks, and I still have the annoying noise. Was told by the dealership it is just normal road noise and representative from Chrysler would not come look at it, said it would be a waste of his time. This all started around 5000 miles. I am pretty sure I bought a LEMON!!!!

It's got good lines over all.
All around appearance is sporty looking.

Interior looks like rubbermaid designed it. A lot of plastic.
I have an annoying noise coming from the rear when I go over bumps. It seems as though the dealer can not locate the noise. They have re-tightened everything back down in the rear, replaced the control arm, and the noise is still there.
I have a crunching sound coming from the front end. They replaced the strut, and that didn't solve it. They have to order a new control arm for the front.
I have a creaking noise coming from the driver side door panel when I stop and go. Mind u, this all started happening at 3,000 miles. Not sure if I purchased a lemon.
2009 Dodge Avenger Review:
I'm not sure how to rate this vehicle? My fiance has a 2008 with 20,000 miles, and it has not had one problem. Hers drives and performs a lot better than mine, and is a very solid car over all. My confidence level in mine has been "shaken" if you will.

The looks is great looking, bringing back the old cars of the 80 look.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Avenger?
Less plastic and more leather.
Horsepower on the four cylinder because of the weight of the car.
ABS breaks.
Make engine not as noisy. But this car runs great on the highway.

Styling is good.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Avenger?
The brakes lock up. ABS should be standard. My wife wrecked after 1 hour of driving her new Avenger with less than 200 miles on it. She slid into the rear end of another vehicle. The repair person said it locks up on him also.

This is regarding the Journey, which you do not include in your choices.
interior storage, handling, ride
Good value for the price, compared to similar vehicles.
Mileage has been running about 24 mpg. average.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Avenger?
There is an annoying roar at about 1800 rpm that comes from the exhaust system.
Also, the remote operator was left off and the visor had to be replaced. This was improperly wired which caused the battery to discharge within two days

If Chrysler will fix the exhaust problem and manufacturing quality control, they may have a competitor.
