Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
This is s very solid truck. It must be the fully boxed frame and through-welds. It feels heavy, but a good heavy, like it's a force of nature, that can't be broken. Beautiful interior on my King Ranch. Ventilated and true a/c seats! Synch system is incredible. I can use my voice to control most of the cabin systems including the heat-a/c (even the exact temperature!), navigation (all aspects), jukebox music (40GB worth), Phone, and much more. With the Sirius radio linked to my nav screen, I can find all the gas stations nearby and the price they are charging! I can get actual real-time weather radar maps across the entire country, then zoom on them regionally or locally, so that if a bad storm is somewhere ahead and I want to drive around it, I can. Synch is a full-bodied system that really need volumes to properly explain all that it can do and how easy it is. The King Ranch saddle leather is the real deal. The Pirelli Scorpian tires are about the best you can imagine for a high-end truck like this. The suspension is luxurious, yet firm enough to keep the vehicle sure-footed. Steering feels solid and weighted. Huge amount of space. I am 195 pounds and 6'-2" and I feel like I would easily still fit if I was packing another 100 pounds and was 4 inches taller. This is a big boy's toy (that's a compliment).
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Ford F-150?
The headrests were evidently canted forward aggressively to meet some aspect of the 5 star crash test. I think Ford should allow the customer to adjust this so that it could be leaned back somewhat. One of the reasons I got the rear DVD headrest option is because they are a bit less aggressively tilted. The steering wheel should telescope in and out. Even though I have long arms, my knees have to be nearly touching the dash for my hands to comfortably grab the steering wheel. The driver's side armrest is 1/3 of an inch lower than the center console. While this doesn't sound like much, it is noticeable. They should be the same exact height. Also, the door armrest should be a little closer to the driver. There is actually too much room! My left elbow has a hard time reaching the door armrest and still allow my fingers to touch the steering wheel.
2009 Ford F-150 Review:
Ford's 2009 F150 is a winner. This is the 3rd F150 my family has owned over the years and while we have enjoyed them all, this is by far the best. I also have owed 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ (it was very nice) and I have owned Toyotas, Chryslers, and this 2009 F150 is probably the best of them all. There are some subtle tweaks Ford's ergonomic guys could learn from my body size (tall, medium build) to improve it for me, but there are other aspects of the new f150 that make it the best there is. This has got to be the most solid pickup truck on the market right now. It also can tow more than any of the others. The Ford also looks great. It's a man's man's truck, but is very cushy. The saddle leather is both macho and indulgent. This truck is big and drives big. Not something for in-city parking, but for the mountains and the ranch. However, there is an F150 for everyone, which is why, for about the last 30 years, it is the best-selling Vehicle (cars + trucks combined) in the USA. You can get a minimal front seat utilitarian truck with a short bed, medium bed or long bed. You can get a minimal back seat cab if you want; or you can get my choice: the SuperCrew cab with the World's largest back seat leg room so my client's have all the space they could want. I could have had a long bed or 6-1/2' bed, but I got the 5-1/2' short bed with the collapsible cargo extender (which is a miracle of industrial design engineering): it splits in the middle and folds up against the walls of the truck so it does not get in the way of the plywood or drywall you need to haul like other companies' bed extenders. The Ford dealers also go out of their way to help you further customize your accessories. They got me roof racks and a retractable rear bed cover (every pickup should have one). I got the Sony premium sound system and it has a subwoofer as well, that will blister the hairs off the back of your head if you are so inclined. The Synch jukebox will digitally record each of your cds and rerecord them onto its 40GB hard drive, so you will never have to fumble around changing cds again. Oh, you can select your music using your voice to command the Synch. Way cool! And safer. A 5-star crash tested truck that is tops in the salom over all the competition. So far, better mileage than my Chevy, by a mile or two a gallon. Farther between required maintenance than the competition. The warranty should be longer, given the quality of this vehicle, but I usually opt for the extended warranty anyway; it pays when you get such a complex truck. Personally, I think this truck probably has enough power to do what you want it to do. The Dodge and the Toyota have more power (and I am sure less mileage), but do you really need to drag race your pickup truck? I don't think so. I want solid dependability/reliability and I think I've got it, in a beautifully engineered package with the new 2009 F150 King Ranch.

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
I bought one of the crew cabs and can't get over the amount of room there is in the back seat.
The truck feels solid, and I like the ride.
I traded a 2005 Ram 1500 in for this truck and I like the look of the F-150. I bought a flame blue one and love the color.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Ford F-150?
When I turn the headlights on during the day (not to the automatic setting) the dash lights still don't light up until the sensor on the dash says it's dark enough. So if I'm driving into a sunset with my sunglasses on and I look down all I see is a black hole where my gauges should be. When I manually turn my lights on it means I'm deciding the lights should be on. I don't want to be arguing with my truck's software about if the lights should be on or not.
According to the dealership mechanic the fuel system comes with "anti-slosh technology" that uses a software algorithm to average out the input from the fuel sensors. The problem is I live on a hill, so if I park the truck with half a tank of fuel in the evening I know I'm looking at a gas gauge that reads empty when I start it up the following morning. According to the mechanic it's that "anti-slosh technology" at work, so I have to do about an hour or so of highway driving to get the gauge to read what it's supposed to. Granted, it is amusing to drive a truck where the fuel gauge goes up instead of down as you drive, but still, I'd rather have a fuel gauge I could rely on.

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
I bought a 09, F150 FX4 in July and I just love it. This is my fifth F150 and by far the best one yet. I really do not like the design of the tail light lens I would have preferred the 04 design. I pull a 6100 Lb camper, about 7000 lbs fully loaded with this truck. Great towing capaciy. It's amazing how many people complement me on how great the truck looks. By far a Ford man I am.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Ford F-150?
Re-design tail light lens to look more like the 08. I don't like how they come to somewhat of a point on the wrap-around side.

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
Smooth ride, quiet, plenty of power.

Shoot the engineer that designed the headrests. No position keeps it from pushing your head forward and it is literally a pain in the neck!

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
This is my very first truck. I tried the chevy silvarado and the a gmc pickup. The ford f 150 caught my eye right away when I first steped into the dealership. It's has great room and drives real smooth. This is man truck!
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Ford F-150?
My truck is black 2009 and one who own's a black truck you constantly have to wash it to keep it looking good. My problem is that as I was washing my truck one day I took a close look at the paint job and I noticed around the 4 doors and the tailgate what is know as orange peel.
I took it back to the dealer and they agreed that the paint job was defected, the sales manager, service tech and the service manager all agreed that it was orange peel. To make a long story short I am having a hard time getting ford to fix the problem. This truck is only 1 month old. Another thing I pointed out that both front upper control arms turned all rusty while the rest of the arms are still holding their paint.

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Ford F-150?
Its probably one of the best trucks out there. I've test driven all of them and the f-150 out performed all of the even with the least amount of horse power. It is still my first choice for towing. What it lacks in power it makes up for in all other areas and by spending a couple hundred dollars, it can be just as powerfull.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Ford F-150?
A small engine or at least till the 6.2 and the diesel come out.
