Pros: What do you like about 2009 Suzuki SX4?
My SX4 Crossover is nimble and easy to drive.
The AWD mode is very adaptable on all road conditions. I use this feature in snow and the car plows right through it.
The interior is comfortable and well placed, with the navigation system a very useful asset.
The price was very attractive for an AWD vehicle as well.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Suzuki SX4?
My number one pet peeve with this car is the tiny fuel tank - I'm always at the gas station. Frequent visits to the pump is also true due to the lower than expected MPG I am getting (22 HWY / 16 City).
Next, the automatic transmission has trouble keeping in overdrive when dealing with high (head) winds or steep grades - moment by moment shifting between 'drive' and overdrive'. I usually have to override the transmission into drive until the 'load' on the car is no longer a factor.
2009 Suzuki SX4 Review:
Overall this vehicle is a good fit for me. It does what I want it to do, and in a fun way - except the gas thing. I would recommend this car to those needing an AWD vehicle, just plan your routes near gas stations!

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Suzuki SX4?
I have a 2008 Model SX4 Sedan that we bought in 2009 brand new for $13,500 out the door. It now has 2,600 miles on it and has performed without a glitch. I'm getting an average of 23/24 mpg around town and 29/30 on the freeway (at 70 mph). That gives me a 300 mile range on the highway and that's time to get out and stretch or eat so I think the gas tank is big enough. I would buy another one in a heart beat. Suzuki vehicles are basically a (sleeper) company here in Southern Calif. (San Diego) and it appears that they're catching on as I'm starting to see more like mine and the Cross-over every time I drive around. Seems you notice other cars like the one you happen to be driving. Love it and would take it over a Civic, Versa or Corolla any day and keep the $5K I saved for other fun things to do. Hard to beat the warranty and now that Chevrolet and Chrysler have folded up with the Government changing their diapers, some of the (closed) Chrysler dealers have picked up Suzuki so it's even better for service and anything else that might come up...
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Suzuki SX4?
The only con that comes to mind is when I have the drivers window all the way down, the seat belt mount that's near my left shoulder catches the wind and can get annoying. If you roll the window up about 1/4 then it stops but that's about it.
2009 Suzuki SX4 Review:
I would buy another one without question. It's not a race car, the Cross Over is not a Ralley car. If you think you need a cold air intake and turbo's then just buy a vehicle with a V6 and get 13 mpg while you race around and get tickets. These are well made vehicles and they do exactly what they're designed to do... Get you from point A to point B in one piece (every time). My Daughter is 12 and this will be her first car when she's 16 (and still under warranty) unless it's stolen or hit by an illegal with no insurance. (Very common here). If you don't have uninsured motorist and live in Calif., get it. Don't think about getting it...get it. (No I'm not an insurance salesman) just learned the hard way...

Easy to drive, park, handles the snowy roads very well here in Saskatchewan. Great value for the money spent.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Suzuki SX4?
A bigger gas tank. It would be nice to go for a long trip without worrying if there is a gas station open an hour or two down the road.

With snow tires, this car is amazing. Very sure footed on icy Canadian roads.
Lots of extras that make this car very safe.

Small gas tank, found mileage usage was more than quoted by manufacturer.
Blind spots created with pillars.

I have a 2009 all wheel drive and I think it's just fantastic. I live in NL Canada were there is lots of snow and hills and I just love it. I have it 16 months and never had a problem.

Like the look/practicality of the interior/exterior.
Good mileage and am looking forward to trying the AWD in the next few months as winter approaches.
Has enough zip for me as I generally use this vehicle as my "getting to work" car.
I average about 100 kms/day so I wanted something with good gas mileage and something that would get me to work during the "nasty" winters that we have in Southern Ontario (Wasaga Beach, ON).
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Suzuki SX4?
The only thing that really bothers me is the blind spot when checking for vehicles/pedestrians when turning left or right. I usually have to do a double take as I've had a few close calls already.

Overall very happy with this car! It's got everything that I was looking for in a car and more. As someone had mentioned before, this is definitely a "sleeper" car that not everyone knows about. We bought this car in March 2010 for under 19K and it only had 22K kilometres on it; basically brand new. Would recommend to anyone...

Very good for Canadian hard winters.

Our other car is a Mercedes SLK and the SX4 feels as well built and safe.

2009 Suzuki SX4 Review:
We replaced a Honda Jazz (UK name for Fit) with the SX4 - it is only a bit more expensive but feels far better built than the Honda. We needed a car that would be safe on snow and ice but not be expensive to run. In the UK the SX4 is by far the best value AWD car available.

For 13 years I drove the Chev. s10 4cl 5sp std pickup truck. So you can imagine the radical change in performance handling and style.
Not being a sports car type I was looking for your basic point a to b gas saver. I cannot stand the basic auto and only test drove a std. The suzuki sx4 has a quick clutch and with a test drive I stalled it twice making the salesman nervous, I just did not want to abuse the little beast. I was not ready for a quick responsive car. I am not that impulsive so it's hard to explain my next move or maybe not.
Just could not pass up the price for performance style options, not to mention AWD and bought it on the spot. I new I could master the clutch issue, remember I am going from a truck to the sport and I might add utility vehicle.
I had every intention to by a base modal no mater what make model. So for the price I went with fully loaded. This car in my opinion way outperforms the rest in this class of car and puts you with a car that costs thousands more.
It's just a sleeper, not enough marketing ect. But this may be a good thing it keeps the cost down. So I consider myself lucky and got in before all the upgrades ruin a good thing, Just the best bang for your dollar.
