Exterior styling is a little clunky.

Exceptionally solid driving car.
German finesse/fit/finish.
Cons: How would you improve 2009 Volkswagen Jetta?
Performance modifications on the base 5 to increase both 0-60 performance and overall gas mileage. Does a 6 speed manual come to mind?
2009 Volkswagen Jetta Review:
A very nice car, but lost me on some major issues. I had an automatic and I found it very thirsty. I also went to the dealer for the cost on the timing belt to only find out the charge would be about $900.00, WOW! I've owned many Japanese cars with the same major service for about $200-$250.00. Volkswagen's reliability has also been an issue bordering between average and BELOW average on repairs. I'v been spoiled with Japanese cars that require no service. My only trip to the dealer is to check on their newer models.
