Comfortable ride for long journey.

Do not know - build it better, I guess?
2009 Volkswagen Routan Review:
I have had this vehicle for over 2 years now. My first trip out was great - average 34 miles to a gallon.
After that, I didn't even get 30 miles per gallon. The
van was still new. There was nothing wrong.
Now 2 years later, still there is no problem, other than the awful pop noises.

The interior is nice, the front seats are very comfortable.

Terrible transmission, terrible service!
2009 Volkswagen Routan Review:
I've had my Routan for about a year and a half now and the transmission has gone out twice. At 6k miles it went out and they kept it at the dealer for 2 months trying to fix it. First they waited on parts and when they finally got them it didn't take care of the problem, so then they ordered a brand new transmission which was more time. They also had to wait on an out of state tech to come in because their tech wasn't qualified to do the work. Now at 15k miles it went out again, plus the power back seat doesn't work. It has been another month with the same excuses. Extremely frustrating, to say the least. I consider myself a patient person but after having my van in the shop for 3 months total on a brand new van, my patients have run out. Volkswagen's customer care dept. is very good at apologizing but can't seem to get anything done. If you read this review please don't buy this van, If you do then you're on your own.
