Pros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Escape?
So far no problems, it has 8700 miles.
I have the v-6plenty of power.
Only complaint is the bad gas mileage city 17.0 and highway 21.0 that is at 73mph.
My 2005 Grand Prix got between 28 and 30 mph on the road with a four speed trans! What is so great about this 6 speed trans? It does not improve gas mileage.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Escape?
Better gas mileage Higher shift points in the trans, seem like that would be common sense.
Are you Ford engineers listening?

The exterior.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Escape?
-Rattling noise coming from the dash.
-Windows let in a whistling sound from the wind.
-Rattling noise from air vents when the heat is on.

Just got this car and as soon as I took it out of the Dealer, I head a grinding noise from the Wheel. It so happens a bolt got dislodged and damaged the brake roters. They told me this was not covered by the warranty. It had just 40 KMS. Now at 800 Km I have the engine light on anf the car had completed stalled. It's a company car. If it were my own, I would give it back to the dealers and buy another Car. Do not buy A FORD.
2010 Ford Escape Review:
Do not buy this Car. It does not worth the hassle. Owned it for a week and it has been in for service for three days. It can seat a maximum of 4 passengers. Terrible car. Not worth the hassle.

Pros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Escape?
Just purchased in June but I am very happy with it overall except for the arm rests up front, the roof rack is not vertical - it's on a 45 degree angle which is not good for my cargo carrier and kayak carrier.
Very good on highway and in the city, easy to (parallel) park and backing out.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Escape?
I have a v6 AWD, seems to have to much drag, I have to give it a bit of gas when going down hill, seems to be a bit tough on gas and the tank is too small, have to gas up more frequently with smaller gas tank.

2010 Ford Escape Review:
I had the power steering problem with my 2010 Escape as well. The traction control light comes on, and then there is no power steering. They "fixed" it, but as I write this, I am waiting for a tow truck and the rental car place to call because it happened again. The two times it has happened to me, it was cold in the morning (45 degrees). It is going to be a long winter.

Not much of anything at this time, this is the second one I have owned, and both have had transmission problems.
First one eventually had metal in trans pan, so dealership bought me out of it, I still lost quite a bit of money.
Now the second one is having the same problems, this is the 2nd time in the shop so we will see how it goes. Good luck to all you Escape owners.

Put a transmission in it that works.

It runs good, when it's not in the shop ... which has been a total of 104 days in the shop since I purchased it in November 2009. Even with that said, with their own records showing that they are in violation of my states lemon law, they will not do anything about it! I am trying to get them to buy back the vehicle so I may purchase a safe and dependable vehicle.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Escape?
Get the dash to stop rattling. Coat the cup holders so the cans and bottles do not rattle. Secure the shifter console better, to include the built in armrest ... as it rattles and squeaks. Stop making the dash out of two pieces of plastic that end up rubbing because the glue weld does not hold. The Ford engineers designing the dash should be fired! Make sure the TCS system is working properly by ensuring the system will not activate on its own when not needed. Overall ... the Escape can be improved when Ford pulls their head out of the fourth point of contact. Ford's Quality is NOT #1! I'd be better off with a Chevrolet ...
2010 Ford Escape Review:
Do not buy a Ford! I have had nothing but problems with my Escape and Ford's solution has been, but not limited to stating, "That is what your warranty is for" ... "All vehicles rattle" ... "The TCS system is a secondary system, which does not effect the performance of the vehicle" ... in other words Ford says, "It's not my problem, just make sure we receive our monthly payment".

Rattle in dashboard. Dealer looked at it several times but problem still persists.
