Improve Mazda's brand image, so that the resale value goes up.

2012 Mazda MAZDA5 Review:
Mazda5 is the perfect family vehicle, especially in this economy and gas prices.

Minivans became way too big over the years. The first of the minivans were not nearly as humongous as the ones running around these days. I saw a picture of the Japanese version of the Honda Odyssey, and that is kind of what a minivan should look like. That totally reminded me of the minivans that I grew up with.

The size of Mazda5 is just perfect. It offers most of the utilities of a minivans - sliding doors to storage spaces - yet the fuel efficiency is like a large car.

We, like most other families, drive short distances to schools and ballet classes, so the city MPG was much more meaningful than the highway MPG. Mazda5 offers the best city MPG as a minivan.

Sure, if you have 6 foot teenagers, they might complain about the interior space, but it is still better than a sedan. We have little kids, and they love the sliding door and comfortable seats.

On top of that, Mazda5's new design is great. The previous generation was a bit boring and odd looking. This new version looks luxurious.

We just hope that Mazda does a better job at improving the resale value. It is not as bad as Ford or GM, but not as good as Honda or Toyota.

All in all, we highly recommend it to small families.
